That would be so sweet. Just imagine... all the teaparty jackassess revolting so that we have the right - neigh, the obligation - to remove them from this world. I will be excitedly awaiting issuance of my battle rattle and M4 to help in this cause.

You need the Purell after you shoot the teabaggers on revolt.

Just bought 20 boxes of 7.62x39 over the weekend. They were still out of 9mm though.

RTFA. Wow, sounds like a white sheriff out of control. Guess the FBI will have to explain to him that one can't use their sheriff deputies as personal thugs.

"Hey Joe, just one final question and we'll leave you alone. How do you, on your relatively meager federal pension and sheriff's salary, own dozens of homes in Paradise Valley, including some paid for in cash at roughly $700,000 each? And that is just the homes we know of, before you sealed all mortgage / deed of trust records?"

When he appeared on the national spotlight some years ago, I just thought he was some hick sheriff moonlighting as an attention whore, dressing his prisoners in fabulous clothes, housing them in tents. Seems Arizona has a more serious problem than I once considered.

Well, given that Sheriff Joe is a staunch conservative, Bush mainly left him alone. Most of the people he liked attacking were RINOs or Dems. Besides, Sheriff Joe was flouting the same constitutional rights that Bush was. It would look hypocritical to go after Sheriff Joe and make Bush look soft on crime.

AirForceVet: RTFA. Wow, sounds like a white sheriff out of control.

I take everything from KPHO with a grain of salt. They're a fairly biased, vocal opponent of Arpaio.

As an example, about three months ago, Arpaio's deputies caught an undocumented married couple in one of their crime sweeps. The couple had a daughter together while here in the States. KPHO interviewed the daughter who was crying throughout the entire interview, calling Arpaio a meanie. Constant close ups and different camera angles of her in tears.

She was interviewed by several other local stations who barely used more than a few seconds of footage of her. She wasn't crying in any of the other interviews.

Also, the other stations actually noted the number of years that the parents had been in the country illegally. IIRC, KPHO did not.

Some people, like Arpaio, need vocal opponents in the media. Because according to the article, anyone else gets indicted.

Arizona voting should take place in July, instead of November. Snowbirds need not apply.

From an old wikipedia page about Sheriff Joe:

In 1996, Jeremy Flanders was attacked by inmates at Tent City who used rebar tent stakes, which were not concreted into the ground. After the attack: "another inmate entered the tent and found Flanders unconscious, gasping for air, and spewing blood out of his mouth, nose and ears. Flanders had been bloodied and beaten so badly that the other inmate initially did not recognize Flanders." Flanders suffered permanent brain damage as a result of the attack.

Stupid Flanders.

I'm just still surprised people in this county still like Arpaio. I imagine the quiz on KTAR tomorrow will have an 80% "He's innocent" (if we're going slanted news).

I think if the guy wasn't an attention whore, he might be tolerable as a fringe politician, but seriously the guys just seems to do things to get attention, not even win elections. Get him out of office.

for me, it is living in one of the largest counties in the entire US, and having almost 40,000 unserved felony warrants piling up on Sheriff Joe's desk as he drives his police car by a godamned Quik Trip looking for a handfull of persons that might or might not be here illegally.

and not just arrest warrants, but felony arrest warrants.

Whoa whoa whoa - who said Cricket was dead??? He'll be back. He just got wounded in the ring; they never said anything about him dying.

For the record, the 30 seconds of Frank saluting the soldier (after handing him the jean shorts) was the funniest thing I've seen on TV in the past 15 years. It had me in tears.
