I'm pleased to see that Mrs. Bachmann is so valiantly fighting for our freedom and liberty, and I wish her great success in her efforts to defeat communism, here and abroad.

2009-11-02 12:49:53 PM
Minnesota 6th, you are on notice until Novermber of 2010. Should you vote this woman into office we will be forced to reroute I-94 and pave St. Cloud over.

2009-11-02 12:53:53 PM
Could someone please accidentally on purpose push this woman into some open machinery? The value of public discourse goes down exponentially every time she opens her goddamned mouth.

2009-11-02 12:56:09 PM
I'd hate to point out the error in this otherwise intelligent woman's statement, but socialism isn't exactly... ah, forget it.

2009-11-02 01:00:30 PM
It would be if they were nationalizing the health care industry, but OH WAIT, they aren't and Bachmann is a farking moron. It makes sense that she's a farking moron, however, because she is a Republican.

How is it NOT socialism?

Obama supports it, and he is a socialist, ergo this is socialism.

WHY IS THIS SO HARD FOR YOU LIBS TO UNDERSTAND?!

2009-11-02 01:03:49 PM
"You can't with a straight face say that we're a free-market capitalist country anymore," Bachmann said.

You can't say with a straight face that we've ever been a free-market capitalist country.

I can't see how this woman is allowed to operate a motor vehicle, much less hold public office.

When your eyes are as crazy as hers you can't say anything with a straight face.

See, I know you're joking, but there's people on this website that would post that and be serious. Also, everyone at Malkin, NRO, WSJ, Red State, Hot Air, and so on.

Really, why is this so hard for you libs to understand?

If you want to live like the Soviets, why don't you move there?

I Said: My Mazerati doesn't do well in hard winters

My Mazerati is capable of reaching considerable speeds. The authorities have revoked my driving privileges and confiscated my license; now I do not operate any motor vehicle, as I am unable to do so legally. You can imagine why that is!

This is a repeat from 75 years ago

I wonder if she banks someplace that has FDIC protection? I guess that's just one of the many minor jewels on the crown of socialism.

Diogenes: I wonder if she banks someplace that has FDIC protection? I guess that's just one of the many minor jewels on the crown of socialism.

She wanted government investigations into whether or not people had anti-American leanings.

Nothing "big government" about that. Nope.

I'd like to thank Michelle Bachmann for her whackadoodle use of the term "Socialism." Every time my husband says something I disagree with I automatically call him a socialist. It's fun! Of course, it doesn't make any sense, but who cares? For two or three eye-blinks I win!

2009-11-02 01:42:43 PM
It really is, actually. And I'm ok with that. Republicans will adapt, just like every serious conservative politician in Canada and Europe now loves socialized health care (and every serious Republican now loves Medicare).

Exactly. In 30 years Republicans will be defending the government's role in health care just as ardently as conservatives do in other countries, and as Republicans so fervently defend Medicare now.

You know who else was a national socialist?

She is colossally stupid.

2009-11-02 02:16:08 PM
What scares me the most is that there are 187,804 other people in her congressional district who said "We need her as our voice in Washington" last election day.

My favorite rebuttle is: "Yeah, like I'm going to believe anything a dirty socialist has to say." I use this one when he informs me the pizza has been ordered.

Socialist health care in this country started the day that Ronald Reagan signed a bill that required that all hospitals treat all patients, regardless of their ability to pay.

How many hospitals have been propped up by government funds since then?

I am under the impression that your current mode of conveyance is by chauffeured livery, and that you take a seat in the aft of the vehicle. Furthermore, I would wager that you take the time to engage the entry-regulatory mechanisms so as to avoid unwelcome advances from strangers.

And for that reason, Bachmann's comment (and DeMint's "Obama's Waterloo" comment) should be embraced by the left, not dismissed. It proves that the GOP's anti-health posturing is pure political future-proofing and has zero to do with improving the lives of their constituents.

You people don't like her because she's blunt.

FTA: "You can't with a straight face say that we're a free-market capitalist country anymore," Bachmann said.

The only ones who ever could say that with a straight face were the slack-jawed moron brigade.

Agreed. Not only does it really get me LOLing, she and Palin and Beck and...ah, you get the picture. They're guaranteeing a second Obama term at the very least, and likely a Democratic dynasty in the near future.

Far from it, Michelle, far from it...

"House health care bill is the crown jewel of Socialism"

Bah, socialists don't have kings. Maybe dictators... So maybe it's the flashiest, gaudiest baubble on the military sash?

2009-11-02 03:07:49 PM
She has the same status with me as Mike Tyson: nothing she can say would ever shock me?

Mike Tyson ate a chihuahua? OK, I'll buy it.

Michelle Bachmann compared giving millions access to health care to shoving Jews in ovens? Meh. I've heard crazier from her.

I know she said Socialism, not Naziism, but it's only Monday...

2009-11-02 03:08:02 PM
Am I wrong to wish there really were FEMA reeducation camps, if only so that Glenn Beck and Michele Bachmann could be sent to them, unable to tell anyone that it's all true?

2009-11-02 03:09:10 PM
That's kinda weak isn't it? Has the crazy well gone dry?

2009-11-02 03:09:36 PM

Democrats failed to take over health care in 1994, and as a result, were MASSACRED in the polls. The same will happen in 2010.

Recently this guy came to my door looking for signatures on his petition to get on the ballot for Republican precinct comitteeman. I told him I'd sign his ballot, but that there was no chance I'd vote Republican unntil they rejoined the real world and learned what the words "socialism" and "marxism" mean, and that nothing Obama has proposed comes close to either one of those things. This seemed to confuse him. He just kind of wandered off after that. I love it when the Republicans come to play.
