My team has a bye this week, but I look forward to the camaraderie, thoughtful discussion, and reasonable discourse of my fellow Farkers today. Good luck to your team today!

Does a singularity open up and swallow the universe being that the Detroit Lions are 4 point favorites today? Will someone say, for the first time since 1932 that "Detroit won but they didn't cover the spread?"

I wonder what they are gonna do with themselves in Missouri and Michigan....

Who would you choose? T.Gonzalez vs. NO or B. Celek vs. NYG

I lean toward McNabb going nuts on the Giants as usual.

Let's be honest here: it's not "start[ing] drinking" when you still haven't stopped drinking from the last time around.

Do the Titans finally get that first win with Vince Young?

No, because the Titans are starting VY. He's going to throw 3 picks by half and he's going to be benched for Collins. The Titans sucking isn't Collins' fault, it's the fault of a shiatty WR corps and no secondary. VY will make a bad team worse because he is really bad at reading defenses, and he just sits in fear in the pocket. He's somehow lost the ability to escape a sack. After he got hurt in 2008, he lost his fair passing ability, and he sucked at reading defenses before that. Hell, he threw 17 interceptions to 9 TDs in 2007.

I saw someone list the Detroit D as a top 10 fantasy option this week. I had to rub my eyes to make sure I wasn't seeing thing.

Hopefully that isn't the ESPN equivalent of the Madden Curse. I've got Austin in my starting lineup today and my opponent is 7-0. I need all the help I can get today.

I have some weird FF quandaries this week.

Pick 2: Gore, Thomas, Turner, Chris Johnson

Are any other Reggie Wayne owners scared to start him or do you think it's all systems go? I have Miles Austin going and could toss in Boldin or Housh instead of Wayne.

Hmmmmmm...

/6-1 in my big money keeper league
//3-4 in my no money Fark league

Today is the 10th anniversary of Walter Payton's death, and he will be honored at halftime of the Bears' game. And Mike Ditka just said he should have a statue.

Yeah, and he should have had a TD in the Super Bowl too, but you decided that it was more important to get "The Fridge" one, Mike.

A guy in my keeper league drafted him and dropped him after week 2. I snaked him just to stash on my bench...Boldin got injured...he got the call. Sometimes foresight and luck mesh and I get a boner.

They play the yam gargling Rams this week. A Pop Warner defense could sack Marc Bulger 5 times and pick him off twice.

Howie Spankowitz: Pick 2: Gore, Thomas, Turner, Chris Johnson

If you think VY can move the offense through the air, Chris Johnson is a good bet. The man can put up some yards.

I'm guessing that CJ may be in store for a great game because VY will be dumping off short. If he's forced to throw downfield...long day for the Titans.

Haha, I agree. So Detroit's D should be good for 3 sacks and 1 pick.

Titans are giving 3 to the Jags. This was insane even before Young was made the starter.

I'm serious. I picked them up as a match play in my seasonal league this week. I think they get a pick 6 and at least 4 sacks and a fumble recovery today.

I've got a unique FF situation today: who do I start at QB, Rodgers or Favre?

Rodgers has been great for me all season, but the Vikings D is good, and I think Favre might go nuts and throw for 5 TDs in Lambeau, just as a "fark you" to Ted Thompson.

It's true, playing the D going up against they lambs is a winning formula. The only thing that would scare me about Detroit's D today is Stephen Jackson.

Start Rodgers. Minnesota's going to run on the Packers, I have a feeling. I think GB will be playing from behind, too.

If I was Jacksonville, I'd force VY to throw long by guarding the short ball and watching the run. Yeah, if they start bombing it, they're going to regret it quick. But that assumes VY can air it out. I think Jacksonville can stuff Tennessee at no risk.

Going to agree with CJ. He is a must for you, my other would be Thomas.

It depends how your DST is scored. The Rams will put up some points, but their D is simply awful and so are their special teams. I think you make up for any scoring by Jackson.

This is why I like CJ. He's so fast. But they have to get him out in the open field. Who are you going to box him with? A linebacker? Mathis is out for the Jags, so that's not an option. I have a feeling he has a big day.

10min_game_misconduct: I have my own quandary. McNabb or Flacco?

I'd go with McNabb. The Giants can be passed on because of injuries to the secondary and he's a mobile QB. I think he has a bounce back game this week.

McNabb. The Giants have given up 9 passing touchdowns this season, the Broncos 3. Plus, with Westbrook out, I think Philly is going to try and win with McNabb's arm.

Denver's Defense is brutal, go with McNabb, but don't expect fireworks from either.

Interesting. I'm still not seeing him get much, but that makes it more likely. Eh, I'm not anywhere close to an expert here. I've given my $.02.

Absolutely. If yards allowed aren't scored, it's a pretty strong play.

Johnson. Don't expect much, though. I might be able to cover him.
