on Halloween? ...really?

It's almost a dead certainty that someone brought a bat from home and released it as a prank.

Waittaminnit.

There is a Batman costume and net for the mascot reserved for just such an occasion?

PeTA's gonna have a goddamned field day. If they got all salty about Obama swatting a fly, I'm sure their collective panties are already in a big, wet knot.

After the game Ginobilli said "It flew by, so I took a swing and luckily connected". Ginobili then flung himself out of the locker room, slid backward onto a bus, and tumbled wildly into his suburban home.

TFA doesn't specify, but I'm assuming that was a publicity stunt? Halloween, mascot dressed as Batman... Or is it just fairly common for bats to be in the arena?

At one time birds were big problem, shiating all over visiting teams

In the arena? I'm not sure. In the area? Absolutely. Mexican free-tail bats are very common throughout the region (see the Congress Avenue Bridge in Austin), so it's not exactly a stretch to imagine a bat getting into the AT&T Center.

I'm more afraid of catching rabies than the bat. At least I would think it's rabid if it's not afraid to be out when the stadium is not empty.

Uh no, practically every large venue here has a bat problem at one time or another. We are only about 10 miles from the largest Freetail colony in North America. Additionally, the bat was also at the hockey game the day before.

the best part, which the video doesn't show, was Dejuan Blair flinching like a little girl as the bat flew by him before Manu killed it...

Surprised Ginobli didn't flop trying to draw the foul.

I read that headline hoping Ginobli was going to have a baseball bat thrown at his head...thus laid out.

I went to a concert at the Borgata in Atlantic City, and a few bats were spotted flying under the stage lights. Lord knows what was happening in the dark part of the theater.

It may not be cool to admit it, but I was showering once in an army tent shower thingy and a bat was in there. It flew right at my face a few times and I couldn't run outside cause I was naked so I admit I screamed like a girl dodging it like neo dodged bullets in the matrix.

Yeah, well it would be kind of stupid to just let it run into you. You have to catch them from an angle to knock them down anyways.

One time my cat knocked one out of midair. In the dark. It was badass.

I have no idea which headline is his, which is possibly my point. None of them were outstanding, certainly none were "infinity" better.
