You mean the left-handed ace that the Angels beat in the last series?

2009-10-31 06:37:28 PM
And the only thing more scary than facing the Yankees' OTHER left-handed ace is having to watch a whole game of baseball

Wow, little early for this thread, I like it.

2009-10-31 06:40:13 PM
You mean the 40 year old guy that hasn't won a road playoff game in 9 years? Him? I think the Phillies will be fine.

2009-10-31 06:42:01 PM
Not so sure we (we= the other phillies fans and I) are worried about pettit's pitching as much as the we are about which Cole Hamels is going to show up. I'm starving and a broke college student. Any ideas?

Why do all these people go to the stadium if there is Swine Flu?

2009-10-31 06:43:08 PM
I'm going to enjoy listening to ESPN's Jason Smith come up with excuses as to why Pettitte didn't win tonight; it'll be a nice switch from all the Yankee-fellating he did after the last game.

2009-10-31 06:46:01 PM
Phillies are 8-0 when they lose the 2nd game.

2009-10-31 06:46:39 PM
which costume will hamels wear: 2009 cole, or 2008 cole?
will the phillies righties step up against LH-er pettitte?
will the rain hold off long enough to get a whole game in, or are we lookin at another fiasco like game 5 last season?

can't wait to find out! must get beer, wings, and pizza!

GO PHITIN'S!!!

I guess winning in Minnesota earlier this month doesn't count

I see what happened now, it's been a long day. I'm gonna take a break and get some food, hopefully when I come back I won't be so confused by fark's discussion format that hasn't changed much since I started years ago.

Any Phillies fan who isn't nervous about tonight isn't actually a Phillies fan...

my guess is that the "we're not worried about pettitte" stuff is just their way of trying to shut up those nagging voices

we'll all find out at game time

you must be a yankee fan masquerading as a phillies fan so you can jinx the game with that "book it" shiat....

if not, it doesn't count as a jinx because he spelled "pettitte" wrong..

I don't watch much baseball, but everyone hates the Yankees so they're my favorite team.

I hope they win so I can act as though I'm a fan and piss off everyone I meet in the next few weeks.

Not really. I was kinda hoping that a lot of the idiots would be too busy with Halloween to be in the baseball thread, though

Crap. I live about 5 miles north of the stadium (West Philly) and it just started raining. Least it's not in the 40's and raining.

CC is set for game 4 on short rest....

i wonder if this is enough to let the phillies do what they did to hiim last year....that was 6 straight times on short rest though, not just 2 with one in between....

i guess that is a discussion for tomorrow

So mods want asses like me to threadshiat on baseball threads that are out of place?

They could have at least thrown some football links on the main page to show some effort. Otherwise, your hypothesis of mods wanting people to shiat on you is probably correct. Enjoy, even modtards know your sport is boring as shiat.

With the Yankees sending out Andy Pettitte, himself an underrated pitcher for consistent excellence in his usual role as second (or third) banana, a fascinating battle of lefties awaits.

There is no such thing as an underrated Yankee. Anyone who is halfway descent gets touted as the best thing evar!

Is this really going to be the WS thread? If so, the knuckleheads will fade away after the second hundred or so posts
