I read a book once, I forget it's name, where the internet has evolved to the point where you could have the ghost's of past users lurking around.

The AI of the time had advanced enough to be able to pick up the ability to mimic their owner and sometimes these avatars would live on after the death of the original person.

Ghost's on the internet if you will.

However twittering it ain't happening.

That actually sounds interesting. Was it a good book, or did it suck?

On the plus side, it might have made "this is it" more entertaining with a cameo from thriller. and a few stagehands decapitated.

The concept was interesting, but the story fell off. I remember it spending a lot of the times on the details but was never able to tie in a decent plot to it.

It was one of those books that you always go back to the idea of, but never have the desire to read again.

It says a lot that the intention is to bring back some of the biggest icons of vapid celebrity (sorry, Kurt) and not like Thomas Jefferson or MLK.

I would like to contact Gramps. I am seriously beginning to doubt he killed Hitler. Twice.

In fairness, if we brought back either, the seance would probably be more facepalming or quiet sobbing than helpful communication.

Try to contact Houdini!
Upon his death, he promised to try to respond to any attempt to contact him from beyond the grave with a secret, but unambiguous message he gave only to his wife, and it's been locked up to this day, seen and known only by a few lawyers IIRC.

None of these mediums have been able to come back with the secret message. But, the offer's still open, and will remain so in perpetuity. Houdini strikes me as a fair man- IF a medium called back his spirit, I think he'd man up to the pwnage and reveal the secret word.

There was no mention of Joan of Arc so thread is indeed worthless.

These people are out there. They're out there, and in large numbers. They have driver's licenses.

Think about your friends. You probably don't know anyone that you consider an absolutely terrible driver. You can't really think back and find any time in history where you were in the car and were thinking that your friend was about to kill everyone in his/her car while completely sober.

Somewhere out there is a silent mass. They drive alongside you, and they always seem to be shuffling around on the floor of the car when the light turns green. No one seems to know them, but there they are; the ones that try to change lanes without a signal as you are perfectly parallel to them. These are the people that stop at yield signs with no traffic in sight.

You've always wondered who they are. Well, now you see them.

I don't know about you, but I haven't been able to watch a "Hogan's Heroes" rerun since I saw "Auto Focus". I'm no prude, but damn, he was one twisted SOB.

/props to Greg Kinnear for a job well done (and Crane's son signed off on that movie)

While it may be in poor taste, I doubt Joe Jackson agrees with you. His money-counting fingers are getting itchy.

It may never be late enough for die hard fans. They've kept that poor SOB from rest every day since he died (on the news, in some way, shape or form....)

Give it 12 months (mark my words) and Joe Jackson will find a way to scrounge some money off MJ's kids. Bastard. All these celebs who are talking him up now? They were pretty damn silent during his kiddy-diddling trial.

MJ - Damaged man-child. Talented Musician. Very odd guy. I don't relish his death, but at one point in time, I was like "Why Stevie Ray and not Michael Jackson?!?"
