The best cover of Romeo and Juliet is this one (new window) by the Indigo Girls. Way better than the original or any cover since.

Um, forgot to mention that major credit goes to Mark Knopfler for turning a simple bare harmony and some amazing lyrics into one of the most beautiful songs ever written. It's at once an affirmation of romance and a tribute to bitterness at lost love.

/btw, if i correctly get your fark username reference, "tea for the tillerman" by Cat stevens is an awesomely great album. probably his best, next to "buddah and the chocolate box", IMHO.
