/not that that's the only thing keeping me from taking it seriously, but I lold when I saw it.

So many metaphors -- my brain is on fire.

Bob_Laublaw: Oh, and I hate you, subby.

Don't worry. I hate me too. I'm an elitist, but I have low self esteem. Basically, I think I'm better than everyone else, but I think I suck.

This is slightly (and only slightly) more creative and coherent than a Wesley Willis song.

Therefore, I enjoyed it immensely.

Nice try submitter, but you won't lead me into such an obvious rick roll so easily.

best romantic song evAr is still "thirteen" by Big Star. that is all.

2009-10-30 08:53:23 AM
I'd humbly submit this (link pops) as the greatest romantic song ever. Deeply NSFW lyrics.

2009-10-30 09:02:50 AM
This one is way more romantic.

I'm hopelessly uncool, so forgive my ignorance when I ash:

What is this "shar-ey" or "shardey" or something like that? I heard it first in an autotune-the-news video.

The best cover of Romeo and Juliet is this one (new window) by the Indigo Girls. Way better than the original or any cover since.

Um, forgot to mention that major credit goes to Mark Knopfler for turning a simple bare harmony and some amazing lyrics into one of the most beautiful songs ever written. It's at once an affirmation of romance and a tribute to bitterness at lost love.

2009-10-30 10:14:33 AM
Hm, I thought the greatest romantic song ever was Anthem to the Estranged by Metal Church. Different strokes, I guess.

Filtered at work, no YouTube. Have been trying to figure out which song it was based on comments, but no luck.

What is this song that Subby has blessed you with?

um
i respect your opinion and all...
but that was just bad.
over-sung / overdramatic.
so bad, yet i couldn't stop listening till i heard the whole thing.
wow. just... wow.

and no fingerpicking, just strumming....

/btw, if i correctly get your fark username reference, "tea for the tillerman" by Cat stevens is an awesomely great album. probably his best, next to "buddah and the chocolate box", IMHO.
and one of the greatest singer-songwriter albums of the 70's. hands down!
