Meh, might be fun if they took the interactive Rocky Horror Picture Show route...

If that poster is highlighting the part of the story where Carrie got her period, they did the vagina sideways.

I keep hearing about the film and run into the bootleg tapes of the showings every now and then, but never bothered to download it. The fact that people are so obsessed over something in which there is so scant material of says a lot about how good it could had been.

...and by "film" I mean "musical"

I've seen clips of the original 1988 Broadway version of "Carrie". It was farking awful. There are just some movies/books that shouldn't be made into Broadway musicals and this was one of them. The fact that the original had only a five performance run is a very good reason why it shouldn't be revived.

That's why you make certain that you bring stuff like rain parkas and plastic tarp to the show. Just pretend you're attending a performance by Gallagher.

In the twenty-one years since it flopped, it became this running joke on Broadway. Whenever a show was produced that was particularly bad, the recurring meme was "not since Carrie..." It was the Battlefield Earth of Broadway musicals.

But it had at least one fan. Stephen King liked it.

Coming Soon: You didn't see the movie, now don't see the musical. It's "Waterworld" on Ice!"

There have been shows that were worse. Much worse.

It's just that for some reason people are fixated on this one.

That's because there is a book with the same title.

Of course he liked it, it put money into his wallet.

\At least they didn't turn Christine into a musical

They's a town out here called Desperation
The folks there got a little consternation
A real bad cop fulla agitation
We all could use a little conflagration!

YEAH!

*jazz hands*

Jerusalem! Jerusalem's Lot!
It's not much, but it's all we got.
Mr. Barlow's lookin' mighty thin.
When your buddy's at the window doncha let him in!

YEAH!

*jazz hands*

Welcome to the *clap* *clap* DEAD ZONE
At first it's like a gift and then it cuts to the bone.
Just look into the future, buddy
Whaddaya do?
If the politician's looney
Then it's all up to you!

YEAH!

*jazz hands*

Everybody listen
Please gather aound
Captain Trips has hit
Our numbers really are down

Two people calling
But follow which voice?
The hand o' God will tell you
If you made the wrong choice!

YEAH!

*jazz hands*

/all day, I tell ya. All day long.
