Diogenes: Call me crazy, but I think calling someone a "nut" is not nearly as dangerous as saying "the President is illegitimate."

Or saying:

"[I have been] criss crossing this country talking to Justices of the Supreme court, Representatives, Senators, FBI agents, Attorney Generals, US attorneys, telling all of them, what is wrong with you? Did some evil magician put a spell on the men in this country and they stopped being men? Why are you afraid to speak up, to stand up for you constitution? Why are you afraid to tell this arrogant jerk from Africa and Indonesia - You need to go home, you cannot be a president and commander in chief because you are not a Natural born Citizen. To be a Natural born Citizen you have to have both parents as citizens. Your father was never a US citizen and you don't qualify and you also spit us in the face by refusing to unseal your vital records. There is no proof that you are even a citizen. For all we know, you need to go back to Kenya and wait for your green card, and that after we try you for all the crimes perpetrated upon American citizens."

or

Obama has been in power only one day. Suddenly today my case has disappeared from the docket. The case was not dismissed. It is supposed to be heard on the 23rd of January. Each and every American Citizen needs to call the Supreme court and demand decency from these Justices. They have violated all principles of judicial integrity and ethics by inviting Obama and Biden to the closed door meeting only a few days before the hearing. They have inaugurated him in from of millions of people, when 3 days after the inauguration they are supposed to hear my case, where I state that Obama is not eligible for presidency and never was eligible. They were supposed to recuse themselves from the inauguration. What is going on? Is Chicago mafia influencing the Supreme Court? If we don't have integrity with our elected officials and the whole system is corrupt, then it is time to revolt and change the system."

or

I believe, we have good plaintiffs. What we didn't have so far, is a judge with the guts and a spine to sign a judicial subpoena to demand BO's vital records. ... I suspect, that small town, red state judges are more likely to issue a subpoena. Keep in mind: local judges have to run for office and typically they are closer to real people, who demand answers. Federal judges and the Supreme court were not elected, they are political appointees and more likely to go with the establishment. A local judge in any red state can sign two pieces of paper: a pro hac vice, allowing me, as an out of state attorney to represent a client in his jurisdiction and a subpoena for a production of documents by BO. ...His lawyers will try to appeal, however I believe, that higher state courts will not overturn this decision by the lower state judge, as they know, that the pressure on BO is building and there will be revolt in their state, if they overturn ....

Quite amusing for someone who sucks at English grammar and usage to be calling someone else a foreigner.

He used to be worse, from the stuff I've seen recently he's calmed down a lot and become more (albeit not totally, obviously) reasonable. He's also developed an actual sense of humor about himself and his rightiness which surfaces occasionally. I'm actually tempted to credit Stephen Colbert-- O'Reilly apparently actually watches the show entirely designed to mock him and appreciates it. Maybe it's caused him to grow up a little.

This, of course, explains why his star has fallen and Crybaby McGee is the head nutcase now.

You know, I'm pretty sure that O'Reilly had probably hoped that in his declining years that he would at least be respected and admired by the younger generation of angry bloviators who followed his lead. That perhaps he would have been seen as a sensei of spin, a wallah of wharrgarble.

But no, his heirs have failed him... Glen Beck out-ratings him, and the little shiat can't even yell convincingly... He just gets weepy and screechy. farking emo kid.

And now this. The very sort of person who benefited most from O'Reilly's making disingenuous manufactured controversy a part of American "discourse" is *attacking Papa Bear himself!*

I kind of suspect O'Reilly's taming down has more to do with the murder of Dr. Tiller ("the baby killer," as O'Reilly used to call him). O'Reilly railed on Dr. Tiller for being a late-term abortion provider numerous times and outlined how evil Dr. Tiller was. Then someone actually took O'Reilly's advice and murdered the Dr.

Fare? Probably tastes like vulture or crow.

You can at least rest assured that it isn't at all politically motivated. O'Reilly follows the money. He's a professional buttsniffer.

I feel like my head is about to explode because I have to agree with O'Reilly on Orly.

artifishy: Roosevelt was farther left than any Democrats we have now. He would be called a communist, fascist tree-appeaser by todays Republicans.

You know what I find funny when people call Obama a communist and a fascist. Communists are generally considered to be far left and fascists are generally considered to be far right, so you really can't be both at the same time.

Tingle007: My mom believes not only that Olbermann is fair and balanced but that he is a REAL journalist.

But if she didn't believe everything guys told her i wouldn't be here.

Olberman is not fair and balanced, and he's not a real journalist. He's an opinion person. However, I do believe that he is more fair and balanced than Fox News. However, that is not that hard to do.

And since this thread is at least partly about Orly Taitz (who is more than just batshiat insane), has anyone else seen the article about how she accused Judge Land (the one that imposed the sanction order on her) and Attorney General Holder of colluding because someone saw Attorney General Holder or someone resembling him in a coffee shop? Any sane person (heck, I'd even say most insane people) would conclude that if they saw someone in a coffee shop, that someone was probably getting some coffee.

1. Pass the bar exam.

47 is the new 42: You know what I find funny when people call Obama a communist and a fascist. Communists are generally considered to be far left and fascists are generally considered to be far right, so you really can't be both at the same time.

All this nonsense comes from people who mistake or exaggerate the existence of a "Left-Right" dichotomy. Left and Right lose meaning very quickly when you look at them too closely, or over any historical period. The old WW2 system of Fascists = Right, Communists = Left existed because these two sides were actively waring with each other on European streets, and even still this only made sense when looking at specific ideological beliefs therein. Fascists were corporatist nationalists, and Communists were egalitarian universalists (this is still simplistic). To suggest that these meanings carry over to today's political discourse in anyway is absurd.

The continuation of the Left vs. Right political divide is why we have people calling Obama a communist. It doesn't matter that his policies bear no resemblance to what either Marxist idealists or the Soviet bloc would do, by virtue of being more "left" than the the Republican candidate, Obama is thus "closer" to being a communist and might as well be labeled one.

Politics does not work on a slider scale. Even the "4 point" scale which distinguishes between Authoritarian-Libertarian and Free Market vs. State-Assistance only catches a small piece of the picture. If people would stop trying to bluntly categorize politicians and policy into these stupid metrics, maybe they'd bother to actually look at what is actually being done, think about how it affects them and those around them, and react accordingly.

mylonitic: Jim_Callahan: ne2d: Adjective Bird Whiskey: Lord, I don't want to side with Bill O'Reilly.

I haven't seen that much, but I've always gotten the impression that he's more of a populist blowhard than a right-winger.

Did O'Reilly advocate Tiller be killed or simply put in jail?

Anyone bother to read the decision itself? It's very thorough. It's a lot to read, but for most people, you can skip straight to sections 3F and 4 towards the end at pages 28-30 and witness a judicial smackdown.

Link to dismissal brief (new window)

For most reasonable people, this little gem:

"Additionally, the Court has received several sworn affidavits that Taitz asked potential
witnesses that she planned to call before this Court to perjure themselves."

should be all you ever need to know about Orly Taitz.

Gotta love this story that just moved on the Metro Networks news wire:

>>Judge Tosses Obama Birth Suit Filed By California Man

(Santa Ana, CA) -- A California man who is trying to get President Obama tossed out of office unless he presents "clear" and "convincing" evidence of his citizenship has had his lawsuit thrown out by a federal judge. Orly Taitz, an Orange County-based lawyer and prominent figure in the so-called "birther" movement, is vowing to appeal Thursday's decision by U.S. District Judge David Carter. He told the "Los Angeles Times" he also plans to continue filing other legal actions. in announcing his decision yesterday, Judge Carter criticized Taitz for asking his supporters to flood the court with phone calls and letters.

And what exactly did Maddow or "Olbertmann" do that was dangerous? Every night I watch Maddow, and I just see her exposing corrupt scumbags every night. And then some of these corrupt scumbags are arrogant enough to come on her show thinking they can beat her in a fact based non-shouting over each other (unlike Fox News (and Hardball) where it just sounds like noise with 4 people yelling over each other)debate. Maddow houses them with facts every single time.

There are people who think Fox News, much less Bill O'Reilly are actually Fair and Balanced?

I've always taken it to mean they offer their right wing slant to balance out the lefty slant of CNN and MSNBC. It's not that Fox itself is actually fair and balanced, just that its presence balances out the marketplace.

2009-10-30 10:17:21 AM
Olbermann, Maddow, Mathews are the only ones reporting the Newson TV, along with PBS.

the only thing that is as good/better is the Internet, because no one owns the Internet thus no one can control the news on it.

the rest of that shiat you morons call news is Corporate Propaganda. this propaganda is pushed by the top 1% richest so they can get their boys into power and thus frkkK the american middle class a bit more.

Digitalstrange: It's not that Fox itself is actually fair and balanced, just that its presence balances out the marketplace.

You mean that its presence generates an overall balance between reality and non-reality? Because I do agree, if Fox News didn't exist, the entire news media would never have such an even reality / non-reality spread.

twobux: I give people more credit than to believe that they think O'Reilly doesn't have an agenda.

I think O'Reilly's only agenda is self-aggrandizement and ratings. Playing a right-wing blowhard on TV is merely his vehicle to get to that end. I'm not saying that he's secretly left-wing or anything, just that his actual views don't necessarily bear any relation to those of the carefully-constructed character he plays.

In short, I believe that O'Reilly is basically playing a persona for ratings, whereas Glenn Beck, for instance, may in fact be genuinely, completely farking nuts.

2009-10-30 05:46:35 PM
Another fun nugget from the ruling, this one for the military commander adjoined to the suit who claimed that he should not be deployed to combat if Obama was not eligible for the office:

Furthermore, Lieutenant Freese's claims are based upon the notion that his duty to serve is based upon who is in office. The duty to defend is not dependent upon a political or personal view regarding the individual who serves as President and Commander-in-Chief. It is an unequivocal duty to defend our country.

This Court will not interfere in internal military affairs nor be used as a tool by military officers to avoid deployment. The Court has a word for such a refusal to follow the orders of the President of the United States, but it will leave the issue to the military to resolve.

Ouch.

Glenn Beck, I think, is playing it up. He may actually believe some of that shiat, but he definitely hams it up on camera.

Hannity might be a true believer.

O'Reilly and Limbaugh are in it for money. They might have once believed in something, but that's long gone. They also are the most talented of the bunch.
