This is Big Brother, not Survivor. Survivor taping has been wrapped up for almost a month now.

Oh, and Booo-hoooo-bies!
2001-09-18 12:13:24 AM
CBS and programming in denial.
what else is new?
2001-09-18 12:18:18 AM
wow- wrong show AND cant even spell 'survivor' right...whoever posted this is a farking genius- or perhaps its an attempt to trick certain fark robbing news sites?
2001-09-18 12:20:25 AM
This is just sad. I don't know what else to say.
Their show sucks enough, they don't have to do this.
2001-09-18 12:27:53 AM
Hmm... this could be an interesting experiment in psychology. Cruel, yes, but still...
2001-09-18 12:30:39 AM
a major corporation lie to people, and crush their hearts, only so they can make a few bucks during a worldwide crisis?

thats preposterous...
2001-09-18 12:40:51 AM
It's all about the money hungry Producers - all they care about is money and all CBS cares about is rating's. I guess human life is not as important as Big Brother 2.
2001-09-18 12:44:13 AM
Maybe President Bush will have an extra missile or two we can shoot up the ass of the producers of this drivel. In fact, just nuke Hollywood. Now THAT'S terrorism.
2001-09-18 12:59:26 AM
I watch this show with my wife (well, she watches it... I play with boobies)

I'll have to fill you in on what they reveal on the show.

Heres a discussion:

BB2 Producer : OK, team... we are two weeks from the BIG FINALE (tm)

BB2 crew member: sweet

BB2 Producer : heh?!? whats this on the news? (tm)

BB2 crew member : dunno, turn it up... looks like Die Hard is coming out <--- vain hollywood interpretation

BB2 Producer : Oh crap! Look at that other plane fly into the World Trade Center (tm)

BB2 crew member : ooooohhhh... look at the sparklies

BB2 crew member : uh... no. Got any jello?

BB2 Producer : CBS is going to not show our brilliant show for a while and we will miss out on big munni (tm)

BB2 other crew member : uh... monica is from NY.. should we tell her

BB2 other crew member : hello... cnn... are you hiring. I think Paula Zahn is hot
2001-09-18 01:07:41 AM
(the article states that one of the show houseguests cousin is Tamitha Freeman, who is among the missing and feared dead)

This weblist shows a Tamitha Freeman among the dead:
2001-09-18 01:09:31 AM
correction... the weblist shows a Tamitha Freeman among the missing.
2001-09-18 01:10:14 AM
Hmmm... Headline about Survivor links to story about Big Brother 2. How strange.
2001-09-18 01:12:29 AM
Tamitha is dead?

I say dont tell em-

I want to see CBS get their asses sued off- and dont think it couldnt happen REGARDLESS of whatever release forms they signed
2001-09-18 01:14:08 AM
Stebain. So while your wife watches Survivor, you play with your boobies? Wow! Maybe I'll try that next time it's on.
2001-09-18 01:33:03 AM
Wow. Unbelieveable. Next thing you know they'll be sugarcoating the national news for the rest of us.
2001-09-18 01:44:15 AM
this is really weird to deal with. last monday i found out a girl from my highschool class was on survivor 3, to start last thurs (?)

and then wed night i found out a girl two years younger than i from my highschool was on the PA plane. with 360 people in my highschool in CA, the odds are tremendous. thankfully she is the only personal connection i have.
2001-09-18 02:34:38 AM
this is the shiatiest thing I have ever heard of......

fark you CBS... you suck!
2001-09-18 04:44:33 AM
big boss cbs suck in wtc disaster, hold breath, (ratings), its all ok... everything is fine nuthin happened, stay in my lil world n u'll be fine... I'll shield u from anything that'll hurt u... u won't know it...Just give me ratings...

Big brother can be a bully that won't get disiplined, n won't know if it does somethin wrong.

N if it does, im sure they'll step thru the same crap they've been crawling thru to achieve ratings.
2001-09-18 05:01:37 AM
As a loyal Big Brother watcher (yes I'm the one), I feel I must say something in this thread.

Uh...that's pretty evil. I can't believe they aren't telling Monica her cousin might be dead. Jeez.

Lets weigh it up:

GEEBUS ON A SKIBREEZE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
2001-09-18 06:51:45 AM
Assholes. Just when I thought TV was showing some signs of improvement.
2001-09-18 07:31:31 AM
This tripe is still on television?
2001-09-18 08:44:10 AM
Who in the hell okayed -ANOTHER- "season" of Big Brother.......jeez!!

Oh yeah and the networks are assholes, they've always been assholes, and they will continue to be as long as the $ keeps flowing and ratings are up. Facts of life: I get drunk all the time, Networks only care about $$$$$$$$.
2001-09-18 08:59:20 AM
its funny they brought that show back, you know why they did it? because big brother is like the most popular show in like... 10 diffrent countrys... why? because its so well produced and interesting? no... because in other countrys its shown more live, and has alot of nudity. I mean, of course its going to be popular if its softcore porn! in america, its one of the lowest rated show in 20 years (I didn't make up that fact)

I hated Big Brother 1 and refused to watch it. I tuned in for the 2nd one just because I heard they were doing things different.

Well, the editing and 'storytelling' is much better this time around. The houseguests have been more interesting than in the first season. The fact that they vote eachother out instead of the public is also better. It creates more tension and more conflict.

Overall, it's an entertaining show for a "Summer Show" if you're fan of reality TV. If you're not, then you simply wouldn't have given this show a chance to begin with. No biggie.
2001-09-18 09:47:39 AM
Who cares! They signed a contract. Tough luck for them. I don't care how "cruel" it is. I only hope the cameras still follow them afterward so we can see their reactions. As someone said early, what an amazing psychology experiment.
2001-09-18 09:47:42 AM
damn i hate to be insensitive but have you maybe thought that this chick on the show doesn't care about her cousin that much.. what if she has only met her when she was like 3.

Thats her decision to stay on and get $500,000 versus leaving the show and still not knowing for 3 more weeks whether or not her cousin really is dead or not(she's probably mentally unstable anyways).

I'm not sure what I would do in this case, I wouldn't go on the show in the first place but I would probably leave just so I could be with my family if nothing else.
2001-09-18 09:50:28 AM
See BS
2001-09-18 10:25:02 AM
Regardless of her having a cousin who may be dead, this is a time in our country when everyone has been saying SPEND TIME WITH YOUR FAMILIES to deal with this and whatnot. It's pretty wrong for them even to keep the other people there during this time of national mourning and crisis.

2001-09-18 10:26:35 AM
That was written Thursday.
I read somewhere that they told them everything on Friday including Monicas missing cousin.
CBS Gives Houseguests All Information
September 13, 8:21 PM
As you may know, has urged many of you to e-mail CBS and get them to tell the houseguests all the information. Earlier this evening Big Brother opened up to all the houseguests and told them everything that has happened in New York City and Washington. They were finally told about the planes that hit the World Trade Center and the plane that hit the Pentagon. When the houseguests heard this they were not in shock and we don't think they know the severity of this situation.
2001-09-18 10:43:45 AM
Yes they signed contracts, contracts that stated they agreed to be cut off from outside world no matter what. They probly had them sign contracts that said they wouldnt challenge the other contracts. CBS probly also had them sign a gag order so they couldnt bad mouth CBS after the show in case CBS did fark something up. CBS owns them, they wont be able to do much except mildly complain.
2001-09-18 11:36:00 AM
When it comes to ratings, BB2 is doing far better than last year's and the reality genre is *really* cheap to produce. Think about it, the winner of BB2 only gets $500,000 for their entire stay while all 6 members of Friends gets $750,000 per episode.
2001-09-18 11:59:40 AM
Someone lied to them and told them people were watching their stupid show.
2001-09-18 12:13:19 PM
I can't wait until reality TV dies... Oh do I hope it will. The mtv crap sucked for years, I can't understand people sitting around to watch that...
2001-09-18 12:14:28 PM
Go George.

Oh, wait, he's not on this season. is he?
2001-09-18 12:32:10 PM
Let the show's publicist know what you think...I've dug up an e-mail address for her...

(and signing her up for a bunch of mailbox porn may not be a bad thing, either!)
2001-09-18 02:20:54 PM
I emailed her at least a dozen death threats. Her and her family.
2001-09-18 02:58:57 PM
Man I love no ads so much!!!
2001-09-18 03:42:42 PM
I'm going to email her and tell her what a great job she is doing, and that the more they can screw with these peoples' minds the better.

Ahh, cruel vicious reality tv. Let it never end.
2001-09-18 06:04:08 PM
BizB: I know you only posted it, but it seems there's an error there. I think only one of the twin towers had an antenna. This has been bothering me for a while. Which tower had the antenna?
2001-09-18 06:15:05 PM
I read they didn't show them pictures/video of the incident so of course they have no idea...
2001-09-18 11:15:36 PM
Finiamh:"CBS owns them", yeah right. Did you ever see that episode of 'Law and Order' where the reality TV producers get arrested and hauled over the coals for reckless endangerment, after one contestant kills another.

They networks may talk big and powerful with their high priced lawyers and scary ubercontracts, but I bet the reality for the networks is that the staging of these shows is the legal equivalent of walking on eggshells.
2001-09-19 12:23:17 AM
Okay, on the one hand, these people signed over their lives to a television network/show. They put themselves in the money-grubbing hands of these assholes. No one put them up to it.

But all said, no one ever expected anything like this to happen. This is a situation is a nationwide crisis, one that the country is mourning together. These people should have been given the information as it was happening, along with the choice to abandon the show to be with their families during this time.

If it were me, I'd be so severely pissed to have been kept in the dark. Whether or not they've now been fully filled in is irrelevant. They should have been allowed to grieve with their country. It would have been the human thing to do, but I guess whether these people care about the humanity is questionable in light of their decision to withold the gravity of this tragedy.

I'd be real surprised if there's not a huge lawsuit against CBS and the show's creators.
2001-09-19 11:59:35 AM
They taped the producers telling one woman 'everything-is-okay'. It was on TV this morning. Pretty disgusting.
2001-09-19 08:49:49 PM
Y. Dload,
I believe the first tower hit (second to collapse) had the tv tower. Tower 2?

I watched the show. Apparently, they let her talk to her sister and her sister told her about the Pentagon being attacked as well. It appeared that she (monica, the houseguest/contestant) made her own mind up.
