"John Allen Muhammad declined to choose between lethal injection and electrocution, so under state law the method defaults to lethal injection"

Wow, they give you a choice? FAN-tastic!

I'd choose death by snu-snu.

They should put him out in the middle of a field and tell him he is surrounded by snipers and that he will be dead within the hour. Then they should have loud speakers set up in the direction of the field that randomly play the sound of a gun cocking, firing, etc. Let the sniper shoot him when he least expects it. That would be fitting.

I'm surprised that Al Qaeda hasn't tried an attack like that.

It would be much cheaper and easier to just keep him in prison for the rest of his life, and it would have the same punitive and preventative effect. People seem to like it when a government kills its own citizens, though.

No, no! Please! Please stop! Don't! No!

Hey! Hey, you guys can't do this!

Hey! Hey, come on!

Now you stay out of trouble, young man.

Take care!

I hope you die, you bastard!

Bye!

Uh-huh. Before anyone else posts/jacks off to their own personal revenge fantasies, shouldn't we all agree that it's a good thing that an impartial justice system tried and sentenced him?

I agree.

However.....

As I mentioned in the other thread, it would be great to see him put into a "Surviving the Game" scenario.

It's well-known that executions are extremely expensive. Here (new window) is a bit of evidence to support that--search around and you'll find plenty more.

I AM glad that an impartial justice system tried and sentenced him. Is it so wrong that the manner he is put to death should fit his crime?

It IS cheaper to incarcerate them than kill them if you add up all the court costs, appeals, and all that. Sometimes it is worth every penny though.

We're not perfect at it, but I'm not too worried in this case.

Have you seen average Arab marksmanship? They would be lucky if they could hit the ground. Why do you think they have to rely on carbombs to get any sort of body count.

Hate to play stereotypes, but sometimes they are true.

that was fast. How come some people sit on death row for years and years? Someone was killed, while he was mowing the lawn, across the street from where my dad worked, craziness.

Probably by reading every study on the death penalty ever done. Costs about 1/2 as much to keep someone in prison for 50 years than it does to execute them. DP cases take lots of extra prosecution and defense resources, tend to have multiple appeals and etc.

I have a problem with it even then because I don't want the state to have that particular power (or many others). I won't shed a tear for this prick, though.

I'm a bleeding heart liberal who doesn't even believe in the death penalty, but I really can't think of a reason that this guy shouldn't just be dragged out to Death Valley and staked to an anthill or something.

Your kidding right? Do you know how much it costs us (I am a virginia taxpayer and i lived through that hell) to keep that A-hole alive. A whoping 30-40K a year. I'd rather pay for some babymama to be on welfare if i had a choice!

I am generally pro death penalty, I just don't trust our judicial system to hand it out fairly.

But in this case, I have all the faith in the world.
