I'd say that's pretty nasty if I hadn't seen Dr. Biden from HBO's Autopsy put a bunch of maggots in a blender to do a tox screen on a decomposed corpse.

I saw that years ago and it still makes me gag to think about it.

Meh...story is neither here nor there...

Scooby Doo:
I bet the only other person introduced in the episode (in some cases who is NOT the 3 stooges) is the culprit.

CSI:
A photo image of the crime has been extracted from light captured in the slime of the leech. ENHANCE!

/actually a pretty impressive story

OK, who knows what the main message of "Scooby-Doo" is?*

*Excepting some of the more recent movies, both live action and animated, of course.

lawyer = blood sucking leech ? anyone? hello? Is this thing on?

crickets...

2009-10-19 11:33:03 AM
You guys be careful now. I heard in an earlier thread that this kind of DNA thing is a slippery slope and you'll all end up in a database having your fingerprints beaten with truncheons or somesuch.

2009-10-19 11:33:26 AM
TFA is (as usual) sketchy on details, so WTF was a leech doing near a safe? Did the robber let the victim take a blood sample or something? Or are we talking about some of the most absurdly circumstantial evidence in the history of forensics?

Why did rotskyinstitute post a blank message? Weird.

Also, note to self: Always check self for ticks and leeches before committing crimes.

They got the DNA sample for the suspect from a leech. Are they sure the leech didn't do it????

The crime happened in Australia. The odds are good that nobody goes more than thirty seconds without being attacked by some sort of incredibly venomous snake/shark/spider/octopus/crocodile/dropbear/sheep, so probably all the police do to solve crimes is to take blood samples from the nearest carnivorous animal.

I loved that show! My ex and I used to make popcorn, grab some ice cream and sit and watch intently every time they aired a new episode. Follow with discussion. Might have been the only time we bothered speaking to each other, actually.

OK, so we're talking about absurdly circumstantial evidence. Might as well round up suspects for NYC cold cases by fingerprinting the subway.
