Any other Philly-area peeps listening to 1210 giggle like a little school girl during the Strohmann commercials when they encourage people to buy their "buns and rolls"?

One of these days, a pitcher is going to be impaled on a broken bat.

idesofmarch: Rex_Banner: museisluse: How deep is the pitching bench for LA? Torre is up to more pitchers than innings played.

At some point soon you have to throw someone out there to take one for the team and eat a bunch of innings. Save the other arms for tomorrow

Torre is all about winning the game their playing and not worrying about tomorrow. It's what got the Yankees as far as it did in 2007. He won't go to that strategy until things *really* get out of hand.

You might be right, but with a good possibility that tomorrow will be a must win for LA, Torre has to have game 4 in the back of his mind

Ever since HK died, I've listened to all the games on the radio because T-Mac is that intolerable to me, so no. I have grown to loathe each of the commercials. The absolute worst, though, is the Bubba Burgers one:

"I gotta G.A.B.B."
"What's a G.A.B.B.?"
"I'M GRABBIN' A BUBBA BURGER!"

Billingsley. Game on.

The Bestest: gee, maybe this is the guy that should've started

Well, the guy who never should have started was Padilla, and he threw a great game. Kuroda, I think, won the only game the Dodgers won last year in the NLCS.

Ugh I hate that commercial too.

I love Vin Scully... right before the inning, he did a promo about a "hitting, running, throwing, eating, drinking, and partying under the lights at Dodger Stadium" event they're doing in November... then he says "What a time to do this promo, because the Dodgers aren't hitting, running, or partying at all tonight"

Too bad Charlie Steiner and Rick Monday have to do innings 4-6

Agreed. I wish Vin would do the whole game.

It's totally mental. Last year he had a particular bat he used for batting practice and went into a slump after it broke.

Postseason jitters? Weird because normally he looks like the iceman out there.

2nd basemen, man. The red-headed stepchild of the infield.

I don't know. The game 1 throw I could understand because of the delay of the throw from Rollins. But the Game 2 one and now this were routine plays. Hopefully he works out whatever has him off balance.

Your reigning AL MVP was a 2B..and he has a WS ring too.. and a ROY award as well.

And Utley is better, though he's never come near an MVP.

The Phillies broadcaster just said "Straight up and down." Am I the only one who will forever associate that phrase with the Wu-Tang Clan?

Wow, Manny, that was a horrible slide.

Utley threw it on target!

Pedroia's MVP season: .376 OBP .493 SLG

Average of Utley's last 5 seasons: .388 OBP .535 SLG

And he was the first 2B to win it in the AL since Nellie Fox in 1959. Between the leagues there have been eight second basemen to win the MVP (Joe Morgan, twice) in 77 years. Doesn't change the fact that it is the least glamorous position on the field and tends to get the least amount of press.

To quoth Ozzie Guillen:

"I never thought I'd walk a jockey."

Utley has been in consideration for MVPs but always managed to injure himself halfway through the season taking him out of the conversation.

He strapped two seashells to his ears and is banging on them every time there is a hit.

Honestly bud, I'm not quite sure. I've got an Onkyo HD R520. I only have the front two channels hooked up (just moved). I switched it to Dolby D EX and... poof!

I even checked the game on NBC and NO FARKIN ANNOUNCERS!
