Will Tennessee finally get a win over New England?

Golly, I hope not.

well it clearly wasn't answered in that thread, so what hope do you have here?

Also, since the Jets are practically on a Bye week,

Go Big Blue!

It's possible. It's possible. No, more on that later. Because it's turning into a damn cliche. We won't have the answers until we watch the games-any given Sunday and all that jazz.

/I hate this whole thing we have where "NOW IS THE MOST EVER!!!" It's a media driven thing (for more: buy Drew's book). In this case, the general feeling I get is that we have like 8 teams that all are epically horrible. NFL record-breaking levels of talentlessness horrible-all right here in 2009. I suspect if you polled several members of the media they would be convinced that the Lions, Rams, Chiefs, Bucs, Redskins, Raiders, Bills, and Browns are all among the top 10 worst teams ever-like it would be these current 8 teams, the expansion Bucs, and the 2008 Lions. We have 8 teams right now that edge out all-time paragons of suckiness in people's mind. Quality teams like the 1-15 Eagles, the winless expansion Bucs, the 2-14 '92 Seahawks that could only beat the 2-14 Patriots (twice!), or the Colts the year before they got Peyton Manning. The NFL has always had its share of bad teams, a few 2-14 or 3-13 teams every year, and they're bad. I don't think the inept teams we have now are any worse than the inept teams of seasons past. They'll look absolutely awful most of the season and 2-5 times this year they'll get to play another bad team and they'll win, or they'll rise up and bite someone in the ass who wasn't expecting it and win that way. Washington so far has been the poster child for NFL mediocrity/parity. They've beaten the bad teams (except Detroit) and lost to the good ones and all of their games have been close. The only teams that has looked mind-numbingly, epically awful is the Rams who have only been able to stay within 20 when playing the Redskins and the Browns who managed to win in what will probably go down as the crapfest of the year.

/Okay, screed off.

I entered a pool at this place down the street, using mostly word association, because I know nothing about the NFL. goooo, Jets?

hockeyfarker: goooo, Jets?

You chose wisely. Bills are having an off year, and the Jets shouldn't have a problem. And to do it properly, you need a J-E-T-S JETS JETS JETS!

Fantasy question for the Fark experts - I have room for one more receiver to start today and a chance between Santana Moss (vs Kansas City) and Derrick Mason (vs Minnesota).

As much as I'd love the Titans to start, you know, playing defense and knock off NE, it isn't going to happen. We're going to 0-6.

I hate you for making me break my policy against starting any redskin, but I really don't like Baltimore against Minn. Besides, K.C. gave up 250 yards to Miles Austin, so I'd gamble on what Moss will do.

Mason, because the only time S. Moss does anything is when I have him on my bench... I started him this week. (Damn bye week)

We're gonna have to agree to disagree today, my friend. Not that I don't think the Saints have a great chance to win, but I'd really rather they didn't.

Week 6 Predictions
This season: 52-24 straight; 42-34 ATS; 11-4 best bets
This week's best bets: JAX -9.5; CLE +14; DEN +3.5
This week's survivor picks: PHI, NE.

Oh, no worries. Trust me, I'm on pins and needles myself, not really confident which way it'll go.

Rofl - don't tell me you are taking the browns +14? They will lose by more than 14 points. It won't even be close at the half.

As much as it pains me to say it, I think this is the week the Vikings lose. The Ravens will look to stop the run after giving up 120 or so to Benson and they still know how to blitz.

Keyshawn is incredibly stupid. He doesn't even leave any doubt.

Anybody heard anything definite about Calvin Johnson?

Over-Under 35 for lowest passer rating (min 10 attempts) today?

Something I'm curious about this week: the Bengals should beat the Texans, but can they finally dominate a team? I'd love to see them put a team away early.

2009-10-18 11:38:20 AM
I need a couple fantasy opinions myself.

1. Would you drop L. McCoy for Donald Brown (non ppr)

2. Who to start Sims-Walker or Kevin Walter (ppr)

The reason I'm considering Walter is vs Cinci the 2nd receivers are seeming to have very nice days. Were that to continue he could have a great day.

I honestly believe this is the week things start falling apart for the Bengals. They've been living on borrowed time.

And that's the other possibility with this team. I don't think I've ever had such doubt about a 4-1 team.

You know what I hate?

"So and so is out with a knee"

Out with a knee!? Did he take it out to dinner, or maybe the movies? How hard is it to add "injury" to that farkING SENTENCE?

I think it started in the NFL and made its way to other sports. I'm going to punch whoever started it.

Because of the Bills absolutely farking horrible start* to the season and Ralphie's refusal to let go of his little Dick I am now a Jets fan.

GO JETS!

*i'm aware that they always suck but it hasn't been this bad in a long time

Yeah I have this same decision every week and really I haven't been able to go wrong. The funny thing is I picked Warner to be my starter and I haven't used him in weeks.

Yeah I know, but Cinci hasn't been good against the pass and the Texans have been an air show. Hence my dilemma.

As we said before, don't think I can go wrong either way.

KC seems to be on the verge of winning a game and the Redskins seem to be on the verge of absolutely imploding.

Unfortunately for KC, Clinton Portis is playing in this game and he loves beating the Chiefs.
