tootse: DamnYankees: puffy999: 4th down... come on Bears, spike it!

I bet you that has happened before. Some QB spiking it when he forgot what down it was.

Ocho caught the ball and tiptoed out-of-bounds on a fourth down last year thinking it was third down. It was quite funny since he tossed the ball to the ref and took his position for the next play...

Colorado knows all about that stuff.

So the Jets had 318 rushing yds today, second most by a losing team in NFL history. So, really, it was a moral victory.

You combine the talent of all 4 of those clubs into 1 and you still don't have a .500 team.

The New Orleans Saints are the class of the NFC and proved it today.

Who dat?

Under the radar isn't the worst thing in the world. I don't think you'll catch anyone saying the Saints' record is because they "got lucky."

Really? Do bears fans think atlanta is that bad?

Geez get over yourselves, atlanta is good and try to remember that cutler is an upgrade over orton. Denver has the easier schedule because they sucked last year, in two year denver will be trying to find another QB, while chicago will be contending for a SB with cutler.

Dont kid yourselves, the broncos would love to have cutler back, they are just talking shiat because its working out in the short term.

Whats amazing is how saints fans seem to set themselves up for failure, their team always achieves in the regular season just to fold in the playoffs.

rka: Not exactly sad-faced Cutler, but maybe emo-faced Cutler?

Odds that he'll throw a teammate under the bus in the post-game? That would be about par for the course.

/oh, there was sad-faced Cutler with the towel on the sideline.

He wouldn't be at fault for doing so.

Guys getting stupid penalties, dropping passes, fumbling at goal line, etc.

His 2 picks didn't help but in the great scheme of things they weren't game breakers. Cutler had a good game, there was just too much fail around him to overcome.

Denver's schedule is not easy (vs. NFC East, AFC North) and play a second-place schedule this year. I'm not sure where you're getting your info.

Do we want Cutler back? Meh. Watch what happens when he gets uber-emo. Not exactly a supreme leader, there. True, Cutler has more talent than Orton but the other 10 guys around him and coaching makes the difference - as evidenced in Denver this year.

Overall, the trade is a win for both sides: Chicago gets one, maybe two more wins this year then they would have had with Orton and Chicago gives up the farm to Denver.

chicago will be contending for a SB with cutler.

Nah, they'll nudge at the 5th, 6th playoff seed a couple of times over for the next few years but the window will eventually close (not Culter's fault, there are just better NFC teams). Lack of high draft picks to reload? It matters.

Not to the best teams. The Colts and Patriots seem to be doing alright without high draft picks. But then again they are both run by smart organizations and led by 2 of the top 5 QB's of all time...

steamingpile: Denver has the easier schedule because they sucked last year

That is about the biggest myth in pro football. Amazing there are still rubes who think like this.

You do realize that that 14 out of 16 games are picked a couple of years before a season is played?

They play 6 games against their own division. Nothing based on how you finish the year before in those games.

The AFC West is playing the NFC East and the AFC North in 09 and that was known well before even the 08 season was played out. So again, nothing based on how they finished would have mattered in those 8 games.

There are 2, count them 2, games that are based on where a team finishes. As it is, Denver finished 2nd in the AFC West last year so they are playing the 2nd place AFC South finishers, the Colts and the 2nd place AFC East finishers, the Patriots. Yeah, big break for Denver there.

What?? Redzone picks are KILLERS. He literally took points off of the board with the first one. The odds of getting at least 3 from where the Bears were at were quite high. And the 2nd one killed another drive, gave a short field to Atlanta and 3 plays later the game was tied.

Didn't help. Friggin' understatement of the year.

So two things the Chicago Bears are nowhere near achieving. Gotcha.

And the Colts and Patriots don't ever seem to have their own high first round picks, but that's ok, they just get teams like the Raiders to make stupid trades with theirs.
