I predict the weather will interfere. I'll go as far as to predict a second straight no-homer game.

I predict, and pray, that the LAAAAAAAA Angels still haven't figured out how to field a baseball in cold weather.

Pray harder. In postseason series between the Yankees and Angels in this decade the Yankees are 3-0 in the first game, and 1-6 in the games that followed.

I don't think any of the previous series were as cold as this though

also, the most important stat, the previous series were best of 5s
I actually think the Yankees stand a better chance in a best of 7

Will the umpires be able to accurately call plays? It's game 2 in Yankee Stadium, after all... remember what happened last time.

Not to mention that with the exception of Rivera, the last time they faced each other in the post-season the Yankees pitching staff was completely different.

So yesterday as I left work, my friend calls me with tickets. I'm a Mets fan, but also a red-blooded American male and a short subway ride from the Bronx, so I say yes. He tells me he'll call me when he gets out of work.

He calls me later to tell me he's fighting StubHub, he thought he had the tickets but was now getting a cancellation screen. And we didn't get them in the end. I still haven't heard from him what happened. So I'm a bit angry with StubHub at the moment.

StubHub once led to my parents going to a nearby bowling alley at the old Stadium and asking for Vinny. Watching my dad turn colors trying to explain how it'd be way different and I'd be an asshole if I went through with going there were the shoe on the other foot...that was pretty amusing.

Yes, the fact that the Angels didn't roll over and die once they saw the Red Sox come off the bus in the last series has shown that we are definitely in a different type of post-season.

That's a really interesting stat, considering the Yankees only played two series against the angels this decade. And it was the ALDS, not CS, which is a different animal all together.

Sadly no, that never happened. Judging from his marvelous accent in Thirteen Days, a Costner movie about the Boston Red Sox would've been great. Fark, Fever Pitch was right there.

"For the Love of the Game" is a terribly underrated movie. Raimi got New York sports fans right. Assholes, but when they see something special, show respect. Unless it's the Red Sox, Eagles, Phillies, Devils, or Flyers.

On another note, if not the Angels, I hope someone beats the Yankees. Had they gotten here without spending eleventy bajillion dollars, I could route for them.. but it's just so aggravating.

I'm not a Yankees fan, but I really hate the "I hate them because they spend" argument. Every team would if they could, for one. Several other teams (Red Sox, my Mets, Angels, Cubs, etc etc) do, for two. It's just how the system works.

I've always disliked them mainly because my Yankee fan friends give me way too much shiat, and also because they were sadly lacking in personality. And now the personality part is gone ever since the arrival of Swish and the Funky Bunch.

Making it obvious and worse is that the two pitchers they picked up are game 1 and 2 starting pitchers..which is just throwing in the fans face.
Then their #3 batter too.

This would be the first time I have mentioned it, so... no. If they do win it, then that's going to all anyone hears about for the rest of the year..."They bought another ring". I am hoping they lose, so I dont have to hear about it. I dont like the Angels, Dodgers, or Phillies. So, had the Yanks not went so overboard this offseason, I would probably be routing for them. But since every other team has to overpay their players so they dont lose them to the Yanks/Sox/Mets etc... I think that sucks.

I am a baseball fan. As a baseball fan, I dont like it.
