haemaker: Who vetoes an honorary day?
Dialectic: "Harvey Milk Day" will not be a formal state holiday, so government employees will not be given the day off. The bill instead calls for the day to be observed by public schools as a day of special significance. Teachers will be encouraged to conduct exercises recalling Milk's life and contributions to the state. What the hell? if it's a state holiday, it has to be a day off. I mean, you get a day off on MLK, you get a day off on Chavez's day but we don't a day off for Harvey Milk, that's so gay!
CaptainBeer: Hey! Did anyone hear Megan Fox is bi a no-talent flash in the pan attention whore? I'm floored!
jehovahs witness protection: MLK has a different meaning in the fruit and nut state huh.
General Vayo: I suppose us "breeders" will have our own day of honor, too? Since, yanno, we're continuing the freakin' species and all./Never understood why breeder would only refer to women.//Where are your rebel friends now?
JerkyMeat: But the real treat served up by the GOP is the nation wide precedent of:http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2009/10/12/BA551A4M82.DTL&type = politicsammo regulation, biatch, brought to you by the treason supporting GOP.
E.S.Q.: Wait... I'm sorry, I thought the article was about a Gay Day.Apparently, the day is to honor a man, not a sexuality.Whew.
portscanner: I am looking forward to the first discrimination suit where a hetero gets sued for declining a gay's advances.
mossberg: given that it was all not that long ago there was a considerable effort among republicans to change the constitution to allow him to run for president despite his foreign birth
The Laughing Kookaburra: E.S.Q.: Apparently, the day is to honor a man, not a sexuality.Whew. It's almost as if the only reason he is of note was because of his sexuality
Cornwell: haemaker: Who vetoes an honorary day?Someone who has to rely on the support of people who might have a problem with the policies or viewpoints of the person to be honored?Politics can be filthy that way.
OtherLittleGuy: Cornwell: haemaker: Who vetoes an honorary day?Someone who has to rely on the support of people who might have a problem with the policies or viewpoints of the person to be honored?Politics can be filthy that way.But... but... but.... Clinton/Obama!
The Laughing Kookaburra: Whew. It's almost as if the only reason he is of note was because of his sexuality
shivashakti: Thanks for doing the right thing, Arnold.
mycatisposter: Maybe some dentists will offer discounted cleanings to the gay men whose breath smells like feces from sucking on something that was crammed in their rectum. That would benefit everyone.
