Ugh. Advertising to the mentally-vulnerable to gain new recruits. What pieces of shiat.

Clever little psychopaths, aren't they? Someone at Fox is either a L. Ron Hubbard groupie or snorting copier toner.

Yeah its not the boobies, I guess that article about incompetenance is right =].

Anyways, why do people seem to feel the need to use the WTC attack to further their personal causes. So many people came together to help one another, and now in the wake there are vultures swooping in to use this situation to their own benefit. Its really sickening.

We need a big score card like the one that lists gas stations that were price gouging. Anyone that tries to take advantage of the situation should be noted so that as life returns to normal we all remember who were our friends, and who are the enemies within.

as sick and twisted as this is, it made me smile

Before bombing the crap out of Afghanistan can we stick the Scienos in there.

"National Mental Health Assistance" must have come from Fox. "I can assure you it didn't come from us," he said. Scientology firmly opposes psychiatry

Well that makes sense. If Scentologists were actually in favor of mental health, they'd lose their investors -ahem- uh, I mean followers.

Anyone remember the Simpson's episode (Halloween Special) where Ned Flanders was the all-powerful ruler and the Simpson's had to be taken in for re-programming and they were forced to smile by having hooks pull their cheeks back and, and, and........

That's Scientology.

Bigpeeler have you seen the episode where the whole town is brainwashed by this cult, except Marge. And the people are made to chant the Leader is good, the Leader is good. That was 100% Scientology. Even at the end the Leader looked exactly like LR Hubcap.

While I don't like the scientologists either, it seems to me every church is trying to take advantage of this, right down to Falwell and Robertson saying this happened because americans made God angry, or churches packed with sobbing, vulnerable people and Bush declaring a day for prayer. When catastrophe strikes is the best time for any church- baptists, methodists, catholics, whomever- to bring people in and convince them to submit, and none of them pass up the oppurtunity.
2001-09-17 02:32:22 AM
BTW, did you ever see the scientologists building in Amsterdam? It really stands out as the most out of place and ugliest farking building in the city.

Interestingly enough, church of satan seems to ignore the whole tragedy. Numerous people in the satanic community have blamed the apathy usually associated with christianity for the act of terrorism, but most are just plain distraught like everybody else.

The amazing thing is that the horrible excuses for human beings are not PETA screaming profanities, not the anarchist nutjobs or the white supremacists. In this case the true horrible humans are the religious fundamentalists like the terrorist, Osama, Fallwel, Robertson, The Church of Scientology, The Church of Latter Day Saints, etc.

On a regular day, most people are quick to judge and blame ACLU, PETA, the libertarians, the satanists or any other un-conservative organization(i deliberately don't want to say liberal, because the satanists, ACLU and libertarians are not left or right, they are down there, off the line) for the suckiness of life. But when a crisis hits we can easily see that the conservatives and fundamentalists are the scum of the earth.

Don't flame me, i had too much cough syrup.

You cannot have too much cough syrup....

L Ron Hubcap..he he he

Hey Bigpeeler: That kind of looks like Martha Stewart. Maybe she's collecting material for a potpourri mix. Great photo.
2001-09-17 09:08:35 AM
vile, truly vile.

The irony is that when it comes to the total religion itself (or 'religion' in Scientology's case), Scientology seems the worst of all. I mean, bin Laden and the Taliban are a corruption of Islam. Falwell and Robertson are a corruption of Christianity. Scientology is just inherently corrupt.

Personally, I got suspicious when I saw Kirstie Alley gushing about her PSAs on Entertainment Tonight.

Ah well, maybe they can just sue bin Laden off the face of the earth.

Groman Please explain to me how I am terrible? I was in a mental state of shock 3 times on Tuesday. I hadn't felt like that since the Challenger blew up. Also, please show me where the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has in any way tried to advertise themselves during this mess. They haven't, nor will they. We had our prayer services just like any other religious group, just like the President of the United States.
If you can tell, I took true offense at being grouped with bin Laden. Our religion is one of Christianity and not of murderers and suicide bombers. Hmm. I really shouldn't have taken too much offense, you didn't even get the name of the church correct.
2001-09-17 10:51:55 AM
Yep I think Machtyn sums it up well...the scientologists will someday all burn in hell. Keep fighting my brother!
2001-09-17 01:06:07 PM
Now, now... lets not turn this into a religious debate. There is a Jack Chick article a few down. lol
2001-09-17 01:28:52 PM
Now Now Machtyn. While I don't think the COJCOLDS should ever be grouped with someone like Bin Laden, you have to admit that christians are capable of horrible acts. Lets not forge the crusades or the inquisistion. Fanatics are always dangerous no matter what doctrine they espouse. In this case it just happens to be radical muslims. Lets also not make the mistake of lumping all muslims in with these farkers. I am sure there are alot of muslims around the world and in America that are as heartsick and disgusted about this atack as anybody else.

As for scientology, I have heard on more than one occasion that L.R. Hbbard wrote dianetics as a joke and these half wits took him seriously. I suppose that's probably not true but it's funnier to believe it is.
2001-09-17 06:04:06 PM
Some of the best people I have ever met were Mormons, but let's face it...your church and most of it's core beliefs are a Joke. Offense intended!

Many GOOD churches produce bad people. I think LDS is a bad church that produces some very good people. But the problem lies with most organized religious institutions as a whole, NOT just LDS. I only pick on you here because you are trying so hard to distance yourself from are VERY segregated, VERY bigoted, and VERY close minded as a whole. Not much different from an outsiders point of view. and yes I study world religions and know of the positive things within LDS, and I don't even need magic glasses to see them. But they are vastly outnumbered by the negatives.
2001-09-17 08:33:34 PM
for the record, Groman, the ACLU is rather left. I am not speaking from a Falwell point of view here, I am an atheist Libertarian engaged in a love/hate relationship with the ACLU. Just look up their stance on gun control, and you'll do a backflip.
