I know that no streetlights can get that high up.

Are you blind?

Everyone can plainly see that it's a streetlight!

Or a plume shadow on a cloud. Whatever.

It looks like something moves up and away from the missle. I also didn't know shadows usually cast upwards.

I need more proof than The Sun being there.

My explanation would be a meteor vaporizing some clouds on its way to a quiet fast death.

THIS.

Wrong angle to be a shadow of the exhaust plume. I vote for the El'Baradei Cruiser.

Looks like something breaks off the missile, and then the displaced air from the missile pushes through the clouds.

Governments of the world will never admit intelligent life exists on other planets / dimensions because they rule by exploiting the fear of God. Once the world realizes our leaders aren't doing God's work (because he doesn't exist in the sense that we've been told) then we'll stop listening to our leaders. There will be no authority, no loyalty -- just complete and utter chaos.

Turing_Machine: Shadow from the rocket exhaust against the cloud.

Wrong angle for a shadow of the rocket exhaust.

Probably one of our "missile defense shield" gizmos getting just close enough to justify $5b more for Boeing and Raytheon without actually showing promise of being effective.

Sounds like a very risky proposition just to prove a point.

Or, you know, people using Reason, rational self-interest and cooperation, and common respect for each other to form some sort of government of the people, by the people, for the people. If only there was a word for this "rule by the people".

How lame. The 2nd stage separated with a visible explosion. A piece of debris slashed through the cloud. Cool effect though.

The streetlights aren't covering anything up, really. I looked it up on another link, and if there is something there, it is invisible or moving so quickly that the human eye can't make it out.

Also, if Aliens are trying their best to keep us from seeing them, they probably wouldn't find one of the most talked about events in the world and go buzz it for fun.

Maybe a woman made it, instead of a man.

No, wait, it isn't a sandwich.

It was clearly the result of Allah farting causing the clouds to part. Kinda like the red sea gag.

What if they are thrill seeking type: the living on the razors edge, streaking behind the bleachers, and giving the bus driver the bird while he's turning left, sort of aliens?

That is an excellent point. But you could say the same thing about Iran test-firing a missile. No one except the most extreme pacifists will be freaked now if we napalm one of their nuke facilities. Dumb ass mullahs just couldn't resist showing off their giant penis missile right after we exposed their hidden nuke facilities. Half the world would love to see us rod their facility.

Speaking of rodding, I'm not assuming it's an anti-missile missile. An unguided high-speed projectile is one of the ABM variants, and awfully good for

Cover that sucker with radar-reflecting paint, get a giant slingshot... Low risk if you miss.

/just spitballin' here
