OK, that IS pretty scary - no time for 1100 hits of X alone?
Eleven-farking-hundred, when there's 1000's of kids doing time for
a simple bag o'weed?

That's some fine defense lawyerizing that boy's daddy, the Judge, pulled out.
Bill O'Reilly, I summon thee from your depths...

Once you get locked into a serious drug collection the tendency is to take it as far as it'll go

Your father is rich, hes the judge, he's the man,
He's the god that got your sentence reduced
But in the back of his mind, he well knows what he'd find
if he looked a little deeper in you - in you

Unfarkingbelievable.

The X alone should have had him in prison for years.

And who the hell could even conceive that all of these were for "personal use"? Does this jackass buy all of his drugs for the next decade at one time?

Finally we have gotten lenient with our drug laws in this country. Thanks goodness.

If you think you have equal rights in this country, you are very naive. If you got money in this country then you are a little more equal than others.

Not that he needed all that for the trip, but once you get locked into a serious drug collection, the tendency is to push it as far as you can.

It's good to be the king judge's son.

2009-09-30 10:36:35 PM
I hate to point this out but it's not up to the judge, it's up to the prosecutor. It's the prosecutor who accepted this deal which probably resulted in another arrest of somebody further up the food chain of drugs.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a saltshaker half-full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers... Also, a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether, and two dozen amyls. Not that we needed all that for the trip, but once you get locked into a serious drug collection, the tendency is to push it as far as you can. The only thing that really worried me was the ether. There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge, and I knew we'd get into that rotten stuff pretty soon.

I'm glad he isn't in jail. My only complaint is that other people caught with drugs are put in jail. Jails aren't the proper place for non-violent drug offenders.

Hell we let every corner liquor store have 4000 gallons of beer, 1000 litres of Jack Daniels, 1400 liters of Jim Beam, 100 litres of grain alcohol, and on and on an on.

The alcohol abuse kills more people in Alabama than all the illegal drugs have killed in the entire world.

Jesus what a farking travesty.

As for this cocksucker getting off on these charges-

drugs should be legal

OTHER DRUGS saved my life.

ALL OF THEM ILLEGAL.

1. Two baggies, envelope, one vial, crack cocaine, powder cocaine Total: 32 grams (1 ounce give or take)
2. 1 gallon bag containing marijuana
3. 5 sandwich baggies containing marijuana. 4 were corners of bags packaged for resale.
4. 1100 Extacy pills in 11 baggies
5. 2 straws, 2 rolled up dollar bills and two pipes.
6. 26 Xanax pills

On an ethical level, those are all I really care about. The rest should be legal.

bberg: I hate to point this out but it's not up to the judge...

I hate to point this out but nobody is blaming the presiding judge. They're blaming the system for favoring the powerful and their relatives over others.

If the guy had been the son of a laid-off black Birmingham steel worker instead of son of the Chief Judge of the 40th judicial circuit, he would probably be in jail right now.

Two sets of laws, one for the 'right people,' and one for the rest of us. As Gerry Spence says, "Little people are entitled to little justice."

But you know, I'm sure this boy's father would say that this is a time to look forward, not backward. We can't undo what's been done, so it would be pointless and divisive to attempt to assign blame. We need to move on to more productive things, lest we become distracted by the past.

Our local power broker's son got nailed distributing meth with a whole bunch of people. Guess who got rehab and guess who got to go to prison. The son is a complete waste of space, rich beyond reason, and totally worthless.

It happens all the time.

"I am about to file an FOIA for other court records to show how out of line the sentence is. Also to show how often Judge Rochester sent others to prison for far lesser offenses."

Eh, even if it's just a 'high all weekend, every weekend' thing, that can be 20-30 pills a week, x52 is 1040-1560 a year, could easily be only a year's planning. Assuming you're monstrously addicted and high every day, all day, you'll run out faster.

But yeah, that's a 'conceivably' thing, most likely this was trafficking, or scoring so big that trafficking was imminent regardless of original intent.

And I hate to point this out, but it's also this same prosecutor who'll be appearing in front of this same judge for the foreseeable future. In a tense enviornment where a decision could go either way, it'd sure be nice to have the judge "owe you one."
