Sorry. I didn't care for Juno either; the majority of the soundtrack was off-putting and made me want to jam knives in my skull. And then there was Diablo Cody's "fresh" dialogue, which included the exclamation "wizard," which worked so well for George Lucas in Episode One.

Juno was great (yeah the soundtrack was kinda stinky), and Ellen Page is cute as hell.

Wow. She decided to be unique and quirky and reject her fame!

Just like every other attention whoring actress of her generation!

I find EP to be a bit on the homely side, but it makes her more authentic. I just hope she doesn't go pulling an Avril Lavigne and selling out to a cookie-cutter "chick" image. Juno was enjoyable, but far from realistic. Clever dialogue and writing is a far cry from being authentic. But it works for Kevin Smith, so hey.

I will say that I enjoyed "Smart People." Pretty sure I'm the only person who's ever said that.

I thought Juno was fantastic. Very enjoyable.

Juno had its ups and downs, but it was by no means close to being shiat. It had two of the smartest parents ever seen in a movie mainly about teenagers.

Ellen "I Pulled Out of 'Drag Me to Hell'" Page?

2009-09-30 01:00:51 PM
Juno was ok. Not bad, not great. Page was very good though.

Decent movie that would have made a much better book, in my opinion.

Well if the critics liked it, gosh, that guy's opinion must be wrong.

So Megan Fox completely overexposes herself with are-tard quotes and appearances on every media outlet possible, and is labelled an attention whore. Ellen Page drops off the face of the earth for two years and is... an attention whore? C'mon, all she did was talk about what she did on her extended summer vacation. Nothing that wouldn't be a completely honest and straightforward answer on Letterman or O'brien.

Juno hater here.

It's not a terrible movie. I think it's just average.

Most of my hate comes from the fawning over the film and hearing people praise the "clever and witty dialogue."

As long as they got rid of the dialogue I'd agree.

subby, how many movies did you release in the last few years? I'm not talking about those videos you did on your webcam where you were lipsyncing to some farked up opera song, either.

Beatle_Matt: (yeah the soundtrack was kinda stinky)

I liked most of the bands on the soundtrack... but the song selection, while story appropriate, were largely crap.

Juno sucked ass and the soundtrack was utter carp!!

The funny thing is that your statement could apply to either one of them. The one who said the other was wrong, (not opinionated), or at least implied it is not the one who you are replying to.

Exactly!! The critics said that Tucker Max's movie wasn't good, but what do they know. Tucker Max is TOTALLY HILARIOUS! Me and all my bros love his movies, brah. As you can clearly see, critics are always wrong.

Maybe Juno would have been better as a silent film.

I'd shovel her shiat...

Page is the best kind of pretty Hollywood actresses: the ones you could realistically imagine having a chance with if you met her at a party.

Check out the no-budget movie The Tracey Fragments (2007). It's meh, but worth admission to her her say naughty things...

oldebayer: Juno had its ups and downs, but it was by no means close to being shiat. It had two of the smartest parents ever seen in a movie mainly about teenagers.

I thought the acting in Juno was fantastic. From Jennifer Garner playing a woman born to be a mommy to J.K. Simmons and Allison Janney (sp?) playing possibly the most amazing fictional parents ever, there really weren't any weakly acted main parts.

Best line in the movie: "You know it wasn't his idea."

I think if I listened to the views on here then I would probably hang myself from all the cynicism and negativity. those views are always the loudest and I suspect most of the time the opinions are just all talk. i for one thought it was a great movie, she was cute, the dialog was great, it was very plausible and the characters were well developed

so every discuss...no wait, put down and destroy

And even if she weren't, last I checked, looking at pictures of clothed girls under 18 is still legal everywhere.

Oh Jesus Christ, another "well let's see you do better" clown.

"Let's see you do better" has never been a valid response to criticism. It will never be a valid response to criticism. Ever.

You will see, based on the reactions in this thread and the fact that it did not win the Oscar nor Golden Globe for best picture, that it clearly is up for debate.

It's a good movie, easy to see why people like it - even if it made me want to barf rainbows by the end.

I was loving that movie right up until the big finishing crisis. Right when dude says "it's okay, we're safe" I felt like Diablo Cody had come to my house and personally kicked me in the balls. *spoiler* The pussywhipped loser suddenly becomes the villainous asshole who wants to pork Juno?

Oh, and making a movie where the protagonists do nothing but talk about cannibal movies and punk music but we hear nothing but whiny little hipster bands.

2009-09-30 01:44:32 PM
I saw Whip It last weekend in a pre-screening and she was pretty good in that.

overly quirky and self effacing hipster douchebag shiatty music lame quietly sarcastic wimpy thrift store clothing wearing unnecessary ironic headband and annoying overly emotional wanna be adopting wife whose husband was right to leave her but not right to try and bone the 16 year old surrogate mother movie... is lame...
