Lord_Dubu: Will this be another fark Tucker Max bashing thread?
I would hope so; is there any other way to treat the asshole?

I saw the preview for the movie...doesn't look all that great. Its like another American Pie movie.

2009-09-25 12:08:47 PM
Tucker: Drew is a drunk and a bastard

You really can't compliment a man any better than that.

2009-09-25 12:11:03 PM
Tucker Max comes off as such a dipshiat.

Also, this movie looks farking stupid.

2009-09-25 12:11:40 PM
Traci Lords is in this movie, so you know this is going to suck.

This Tucker biatch wears DAD JEANS.
DAD JEANS

Jeans that look like YOUR OLD ASS DAD would have worn when farkin Full House was still running new episodes.

DAD JEANS

Thank you, that is all.

The preview of the movie looks like someone took "The Hangover" and made a You-Tube spoof of it.

"First and foremost, we choose these three actors because they were the best actors for their respective roles"

The actor who plays Tucker Max just seems like an asshole. Not a charming asshole the real Tucker Max would probably want to portray himself as. More like Dennis the Menace grown up.

He had a screening of the movie in Lexington a couple weeks ago. Had to work so I couldn't go but I heard it was sold out. Tucker is a UK fan, so I'll be rooting for him

FTFA: Fark: You chose actors that aren't "household names" at least right now. Why did you choose these particular actors? Why not go with a bigger name?

I'll take ssl.fark.com for $800, Alex

Does the question "Your book is obviously full of lies and made up stories yet you insist it all happened, why is that?" show up?

Tucker Max? I only take advice from this man:

Tucker: Drew is a drunk and a bastard and next time I see him I am going to punch him in the kidneys. Seriously though, I love Drew, he's great, and did a great job acting. Hard to screw up one line though.

So Drew is in the movie and has a line. WhooooHoo! THis will be one for my DVD collection along with old The Screen Savers episodes.

You decided to go with Darko, why not go with a big studio?

You chose actors that aren't "household names" at least right now. Why did you choose these particular actors? Why not go with a bigger name?

Answer to both: "Because no one else would talk to us."

2009-09-25 12:20:02 PM
Ugh. I couldn't make it past the trying-way-too-hard first two paragraphs of responses. It's like two high school kids trying to impress the other kids in gym class.

Wombatzu: the Tucker Max?

God I hope so

2009-09-25 12:22:02 PM
Wombatzu: the Tucker Max?

Sadly, no.
The movie only has a Tucker Max.
But only Tucker Max can be the Tucker Max.
The definite article, you might say.

So the actor's salary?

I can't figure out who the bigger douche is, Tucker Max or Tucker Carlson.

Plastering ads for his movie all over the site wasn't enough?

You can't define "douchebag" in better terms than him, except maybe the "gym in 26 minutes" guy. But he's making bank off of it so good for him.

Opening against:

Surrogates
Fame
Pandorum

Will be the only comedy I see opening that week, but The Informant is still in theaters, and I guess Julie and Julia is still out and is sort of a comedy. It's definitely the only low-brow frat boy type comedy out, though.

However, is it just a limited opening? I did see a commercial for it on TV (maybe it was on Spike), but it's only playing at one theater in the entire Twin Cities area. And it's the downtown theater that nobody goes to anymore because they stopped validating parking. Maybe they'll try to go to more theaters if it does well per screen?

"This movie is too raw and edgy and unusual to be done inside the traditional studio system."

Really? Really?

I'll go see it, but I have a hard time believing a raunchy, frat boy drunk humor comedy is "raw" and "edgy."

2009-09-25 12:33:46 PM
So this "Tucker Max" character is obviously just another character of Sacha Baron Cohen's, right?

Right?

much in the way that "road trip" was too raw and edgy. luckily the indie art house community really got behind that one and it made it to the megaplex. hopefully they will do the same for tucker.

He and his cousin were surreptitiously throwing peanuts at hipsters drinking pitchers of PBR

Take THAT, hipsters!

This guy sounds so cool. I can't wait to spend $20 to see him do more awesome stuff.

Ant: Who the fark is Tucker Max?

I don't know, but as soon as I started law school lots of people (mostly douchebags) started telling me about him as if I should give a damn.

I don't understand the allure of Tucker Max's site. I've read some of the stories, and its no different that the stuff most people do in their 20s and 30s.

You went to a strip club, got drunk, said nasty things to someone, got kicked out, and passed out somewhere? Amazing.

Seriously, what am I missing?

2009-09-25 12:36:15 PM
Tucker really knows how to bring the LOLs out of me! Oh his zany antics, I cannot get enough of them! How, Mr. Max, you get yourself in all of these crazy situations, I will never know.

But keep writing your stories, and I will keep enjoying them. To The MAX!! lols.

When I think indie art house flicks, I immediately think Tom Green.

The previews look amazing.

(markyp09 paraphrasing)
Whore (with friends): Buy us a drink?
Douche: No. I don't want to spend that much money.
Whore: Our company is priceless.
Douche: If you say it's priceless, it's probably worthless.

Bwahahaha. That's really farking funny. I almost fell off my couch when I saw that.

I probably shouldn't admit this but I loved that movie.
