That line has worked for me more times than I can remember...

Favorite homemade movie? Easy - "Hollywood Shuffle." Robert Townsend at his best.

2003-03-12 12:15:34 PM
Evil Dead was great.. because even on a practically nonexistant budget, Sam Raimi's undeniable skill as a director and DP shine through.. I mean it was by no means a great film.. but definitely rises above most other low budget schlock.

Goes to show that low budgets don't make bad movies.. Bad directors make bad movies.

2003-03-12 12:18:51 PM
oh yeah, and I just got this yesterday.. Groovy

2003-03-12 12:24:59 PM
"The House that Screamed". I found it at Hollywood Video. It was literally filmed with a home video camera. Ugh. *scrubbing brain with steel wool*

The only movie worse than "Criminally Insane" was "Crazy Fat Ethel- Criminally Insane 2"

From IMDB:

"Tagline: She's 250 Pounds of Maniacal Fury!"

Nekromantik.
It's X-Rated. (this is before NC-17)
Nearly unwatchable.
Obscene (?) and truly horrifying.
View it at your own peril.
Good luck finding it.

2003-03-12 01:33:55 PM
I have seen nekromantik. Oh those whacky german people!!
Not for the faint of heart.Just like Canibal Holocaust or any other italian canibal film.

2003-03-12 01:35:57 PM
The worst movie I have seen in a while is Zombie '90: Extreme Pestilence (Directed by Andreas Schnaas of Violent shiat 1-3 fame ). A film of German origin filmed on videotape, as all classic films are. It is awful. I haven't seen Redneck Zombies yet, but from my knowledge of it, Zombie 90 is actually worse.

Night of the Zombies (also known as Hell of the Living Dead, Virus) was pretty bad too. It had way too much stock footage of animals and stuff. But a guy was killed by a rat and everyone dies at the end (by everyone I mean every person on earth, or so you are led to believe). Road Tage and Mangler 2 are the worst films to come oot of Canada. At least the worst I have seen. Dolly Dearest is pretty bad.

I recommend picking up all the above, you will get dumber by watching them They are so bad they loop around to good and back to bad again.

Surf Nazi's, Class of Nuke 'Em High, Toxie, Bad Taste, Evil Dead... all of those movies are CLASICS. This "Ax 'Em" movie that Boogie reviewed, however, is the very definition of "suck". You see it and you can't believe that it was made in the year 2000. I think 99% of the budget was used on developing the box art for it.

Check out the reviews for it on Amazon and IMDB... they all gave it 1 star, and that's being far too kind.

Rudezombie, is there anything in there that's not in the Limited Edition (came with theatrical version and director's cut)?

2003-03-12 01:58:32 PM
I prefer movies by Frank Henenlotter:

Frankenhooker
Brain Damage
Basket Case
Lurid Women

I've got 'em all. The man was a GOD.

2003-03-12 02:00:09 PM
I wonder how many people were conned by the Ax'em cover art. "Hmm, looking for a horror movie... hey now, this looks pretty creepy".

Then they pop it in the betamax and see the title screen:

Also a good "horror" movie was (I think it was called) "Street Trash" where these homeless people drink "viper wine" and it makes them go insane.

One scene involves a bum taking a piss near a fence. One of the "zombie bums" reaches through a hole in the fence and rips the peeing bum's penis off, after which the "zombie bum" plays keep-away with another "zombie bum". Great close ups of the dismembered penis.

The movie also involves a man melting into a toilet after drinking the wine.

Two thumbs up.

Dudes, "Manos, the Hand of Fate" was made with like hand cameras or somethin on a dare. THAT is hardcore.

2003-03-12 02:13:41 PM
I'm a collector of bad horror movies, and this looks like it ranks up there with "Camp Blood 2", "Hell of the Living Dead", and "Redneck Zombies." I may have to check this out.
