So government is the source of rational decision making?
The more you know....

I think the point is that because of liberal pussification, people no longer work to see their enemies driven before them and to hear the lamentations of their women.

I think the proper response is "Because Adam and Eve were cast out of the Garden of Eden, only to eat bread by the sweat of their brow."

People used to work to have nicer stuff than their neighbors... out of spite alone. What is the world coming to?

That was my motivation for starting working in Database management. Didn't work out well.

As opposed to what? There are far more entertaining things to do with my time than crunch numbers, and I sure as hell am not working hard to improve the company's bottom line when they are willing to treat me like a disposable asset.

The real scary numbers in that article are showing that people are working longer after 65, thus keeping the youngins out of the market. That's a recipe for disaster when those old folks do retire and you have a whole lot of 20 somethings that have never worked before.

2009-09-10 03:49:32 PM
Whereas older employees cited such things as "so my kids don't put me in a home" and "to avoid the death panels".

And only sissified bleeding hearts want things like "vacations" and "stuff". Real Americans will go to work day in and day out and thank the Lord in Heaven that they get Sundays off for church, followed by 9 holes at the municipal golf course (maybe a full 18 on holidays). The rest of the week is for workin'!

Interestingly, one of the key theories that The Family (new window) and their allies espouse is in fact that a good Christian man will work for a good Christian business owner and becuase they are good Christians, the business owner will treat the employee "fairly" and the employee should be happy to be working for such a good man.

of course "fairly" pretty much boils down to, "Whatever the boss thinks is best. He's a good Christian, and better then you or you would be the business owner and receive the wisdom of Jesus."

since 1981, we've had:

reagan (conservative): 8 yrs
bush 1 (conservative): 4 yrs
clinton (liberal): 8 yrs
bush 2 (conservative): 8 yrs:

that's 20 years of conservative rule to 8 years of liberal rule.

either submittard is ignorant or trolling - or he thinks that reagan and the bushes weren't far right enough for his fascist tastes.

/yes, i know clinton wasn't liberal and bush 2 wasn't conservative

I work to pay the rent and afford food and beer.

I went to university in order to get at job that allows me to get whisky and shiny things with LED-lights chock-full of advanced electronics, due to the fact that if I have to work, then I'm going to have some shinies too at the end of the day.

Subby: That is the most viscously retarded piece of trollery it's been my misfortune to read in a long, long Summer of snarling stupidity. Your vacuous ineptitude leaves me yearning for the days of public stoning, so that we might drag you squealing in front of the crowd and cast stones upon your quivering form. Crawl back beneath whatever squalid bridge you've soiled with your scat and bother us no more with your blathering.

2009-09-10 06:16:03 PM
I don't see what's wrong with that. People don't work because it's good times, unless they're very lucky... It would be great if it worked that way, but it doesn't.

I think working to support your family is admirable, not fail.

Go stick a dick in your ear, subby.

The two most outwardly christian business owners I know are purely scary, abuse their employees, lie, cheat, steal, but! They go to church EVERY Sunday! Thus far, every business owner I have met who was a "Christian Business Owner", as opposed to being a christian who happened to own a business, has been incompetent, greedy, or abusive, if not an outright fraud and con artist. And often some interesting mix of those.

Who greenlights something like this?

P.S. Mallard Fillmore "punchline" = win

You know, if I was 65 and had money sent to me by the government every month and an all-you-can-eat smorgasboard of free health care at my fingertips, maybe I could pursue my dreams and spend my days doing something that was fulfilling instead of working for a paycheck to support my family too.

Instead, I'm working to support my family AND all those lovely 65+ year olds who still work just for the heck of it.

2009-09-10 06:18:18 PM
Greenlights like this are why I am not TF any more. Seems to be a pattern of greening trollish, idiotic shiat, I guess to spur long angry threads? I don't know the reasoning. But Fark has become the "endless controversy show" just like the MSM it used to call bullshiat on.

Drew, please retake control of your site, and put it back in line with the principles of your book.

Or, to summarize without all the violence:

Subby, that headline is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever read. At no point in your rambling, incoherent post were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this thread is now dumber for having read it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
