You kids hungry? How about some Campbell's Soup in the rectory?

Great, simple headline. Also, having your news outlet named kake is pretty hillarious.

I dunno, I looked at the picture in the article and I just didn't see it. Somehow, this guy isn't a child molester, just gay. I couldn't fathom it. I mean, have you SEEN that picture? How is that guy not a child molester? My faith in humanity is shaken.
On a side note: it sucks that we're still arresting people for being gay.

Apparently having sex in public was the issue.

As long as it did not involve children (and in this case according to the article, it did not.) then Who cares. A hooker? Who Cares, A blowjob from a guy? Who cares.

/ well aside from his imaginary sky friend who is probably really pissed.
// Tho just as good he is imaginary otherwise a lightning strike will be in the monk's future.

If it's in a public park, I think quite a few people do.

If it's behind closed doors, different matter (and no-one should care).

How are we supposed to know child molester from those who are not, if the presence of a priest's collar is not the flag of certainty we thought it to be?

I mean, why would a non-molester go around wearing a "molester collar" like that?

He was held on charges of lewd and lascivious behavior, public nudity, and remaining in a park after hours.

It is important to note that these charges against Father Campbell are only misdemeanors and do not involve children.

So the guy banged some man/woman in a public park. Big whoop.

Priest =/= monk

Sorry for not getting the reference, but I don't see how these two groups are even remotely related, except that they might fall under the broad genus of 'the clergy'.

Fixed.

I know who Thelonious Monk is. I still think the joke is forced and a bit of a stretch. A priest is not a monk.

I'd say the same thing, except this isn't the first sex crime arrest in Oak Park. I've been hearing all year about the police stings there because they park has become a destination for gay outdoor sex. It seems to me and act of hubris to do something illegal when there's a fairly good chance there's going to be a police presence looking for people doing what you want to do.

I don't know that s/he meant that the arrest was a form of persecution. I think maybe s/he meant that if we openly accepted homosexuality in our culture, dudes might not get arrested in the park late at night for having sex. Or maybe they would.

For me the real problem is not letting priests marry and/or have sexual relations.

So this was a sting operation to catch people having sex in public. I can't help but feel that if you have to set up a sting to catch this, then it's not really sufficiently public to worry about.

If you go out looking for something, you lose the right to complain about finding it.

How is "exposing" yet another hypocrite worthy of a "sad" tag? Even "cool" would have been better. Works better with the jazz reference, too...
