This just in: men navigate by direction, women navigate by sites.

It's not news.

And what's the deal with men and directions?!

I took a Chevy Colorado for a test drive once, which I cut short as soon as I heard the turn signal sound - a synthesized, smooth little beep beep, instead of a reassuring mechanical tick-tick. Now it's the first thing I check in any test drive.

"Me" sounds like a farking retard.

My wife has no sense of direction. But she's never gotten lost going to places she's been to before. And she can follow directions. AND SHE'S NEVER GOTTEN LOST ON THE WAY HOME FROM THE FARKING STORE!!!

This woman is too stupid to live.

they're obviously 'mo's, yet they implied they live in texas

What the fark with posting Blogs? It's like reality TV without the pentrating insight and rapier-like wit. If I want to hear Bottom dwellers retell their fantastically boring "life stories" I can just go to work. Trust me, the next step is all the comic book guys starting their own blogs and submitting it to fark; based on this performance, there is a good chance that this kind of shiat will get greenlit as well.

What the hell was that blog? How did this get on the main page?

That blog made me want to punch my monitor, but then I remembered that getting angry at inanimate objects is something that little kids and annoying people do.

2009-09-05 01:57:14 PM
I'm sure the author thought this was hilarious. Sadly for her (and everyone else), it only points out her stupidity.

Crazy. They all are.

Let me tell you a story that most likely didn't happen but I want to try out some rather bad stand-up material that made all my friends laugh.

I'm so witty!

2009-09-05 02:01:36 PM
In general, I can never understand when people tell me a story about how stupid, selfish, superstitious, or afraid of technology they are. It's not like I've never been one of those things about something, It's just I have no need to tell someone else how incredibly STUPID I was. What do you expect other people to do or say? "Wow, that was ignorant beyond belief, does your brain stem ever forget to make you breathe at night when you're sleeping?". I realize it was done with a comedic intent, but for the most part I don't find stupidity funny.

But at least it shows the old 'men won't ask for directions but women will' thing to be a lie.

That's why I set mine to the female British accent.

She talks a little slower and doesn't sound like a biatchy nag like the American accent mode.

Here's an idea:

Stupid people are actually ashamed to admit in public that they are stupid - let alone blog about it.

You're not cool or funny, "Jenny". You're just stupid.
Getting lost I can understand, but deliberately leaving the GPS at home == stupid.

2009-09-05 02:05:13 PM
Not too long ago I thought it would be cool as hell to get a GPS that had the voice of the computer from Star Trek: Next Generation, Peter Cullen of Knight Rider (K.A.R.R.) / Optimus Prime, Will Arnett (K.I.T.T. on the original Knight Rider) or Val Kilmer (K.I.T.T. on the new Knight Rider)

2009-09-05 02:06:19 PM
That was quite amusing (if you're not stupid enough to take it as a literal recap of events). If I ever had a GF like that she'd be out the door, not out of spite but out of recognition that I would never have the patience to deal with it.

Sounds like a new gig for C-list celebrities.

She's cheating on him. The only idiot in that story is the man who believes his wife got 'lost' on the way home from the store.

Me:... Turn right at the burrito place you took Sarah to that time she was dressed all slutty. Yield at the place you gave that guy a hand job."

Victor: What the fark?!

Okay, that was pretty funny. But seriously, I have a horrible, horrible sense of directions, but even I manage to not get lost going to the grocery store. How do you get lost going to the grocery store!?

I really do hope this Victor person took away her keys and never let her drive again. She's a danger to humanity.

If she were dating me and had this convo with me, I'd intentionally give directions without knowing where they'd lead her. At first it was funny, but her ranting took the funny away.

phlegmmo: This just in: men navigate by direction, women navigate by sites.

It isn't just women per se. Here in RI we do locational navigation except the thing our guide post you're looking for isn't there anymore.

I call it the "Where it used to be." method of navigation.

Me, I love my GPS unit. She proved herself on an 800 mile trip from Providence, RI to Edenton, NC.

2009-09-05 02:29:20 PM
I've also noticed this, she gets very pissy when you don't follow instructions and she has to recalculate.

/I'd love a James Earl Jones GPS. His voice is just beautiful.

I'm glad to have read that, and to have seen a bit of the author's internal mental workings.

Now I can close that tab and NEVER. DEAL. WITH. HER. AGAIN.

I cannot express how sweet that is to me.
