"Curdled" and "cheese" are redundant.

Then again, so are "Milla Jovovich" and "strange."

I would do things to her.

2009-08-31 02:53:57 PM
Maybe she just does it to "be polite." LOL

"You have to be polite and take a bite of it because it's all they have, and they want to share it with you because they're generous people."

...oh.

Anthony Bourdain mentions his love for bone marrow frequently. I need to try this.

heh. Good luck with that. However, if you do go for it, I recommend spreading it over a freshly toasted crostini and dribbling a couple drops of Grand Marnier on top.

Or maybe some fava beans and a nice Chianti?

scottydoesntknow: Or maybe some fava beans and a nice Chianti?

Those pair well with liver, not so much with bone marrow.
I'd suggest a chardonnay or lightly fruited riesling such as one from Spain or Germany, not Napa.

We need to come up with some sort of disgusting, rotten, fermented "delicacy" here in the US. If foreign tourists, politicians, and other visitors don't eat it, we can act all butt hurt and offended.

"President Sarkozy, welcome to New York. Please partake in these traditional American delicacies. If you do not drink the Bud Light and eat the pink pickled egg, we'll be insulted and all trade negotiations will be cut off."

Fish in a Barrel: Something about the thought of eating bone marrow creeps me right the fark out.

It's good although an acquired taste. I have a marrow spoon in the silver set, "back in the day" people ate it. I still do if I know the source of the cow, I'd not eat it from something that was factory farmed.

But it's still unclear as to whether 27 yr old network guys are on the menu.

Only one way to find out.

Have it all the time. It is great. Are you telling me you guys don't eat the cartilage off the checking legs either? It's good for you and tastes great.

If you want to try it in small amounts, just crack open a KFC leg or some chicken from a Indian place. Dig it out, place in mouth, savor.

It's OK. I've had it a few times. It has a fatty, mineral taste to it. Basically, it tastes like fatty blood.

I like it.

"No, you must eat this jalapeno chili bacon cheeseburger garnished with sliced corn dogs and nestled between two Krispy Kreme donuts or you will make the locals angry. They believe the braving the ensuing flaming diarrhea means you are a real man and have great courage and honor."

I used to have a Mongolian roommate. He made all sorts of absolutely disgusting milk things. Boiled milk, milk left sitting out on the counter until it is "cheese", etc. He was friendly enough, but honestly when he was offering me his milk stuff I wish he wasn't. He also left raw meat sitting out on the counter for days and days at a time. Then when we got mice had the nerve to ask me if I thought they came in my boxes of stuff when I moved in. Sure buddy, they waited 8 months inside my effing boxes.

Still can't decide if it was a Mongolian thing or if he was just exceedingly sloppy. I'm no neat freak but raw meat? Come on.
