About the only thing that amuses me more than mis-use of the img1.fark.net tag is a blown opportunity to use it when it actually would have applied.

The lack of use of the ironic tag is ironic. Ever think about that?

Ironic?

What if she saw it coming but the universe imposes a flat rate penalty on avoidance of disaster.

For example, each time the clairvoyant uses her skills to avoid unpleasantness she gets a really really itchy rash.

So obviously a temporary rash, however itchy, is better than dying in a fire, so she will avoid that. But maybe it's worse than falling off a chair and missing a few weeks of work, so she'll fall of the chair and enjoy some short term disability.

//I have no idea if the chair thing in that page is related, but it seems like a good example.

I thought the story posted on the left of the angel announcement was a bit more interesting and just as Farkworthy...Dumb bag misses her chair and all workers have to be trained and practise sitting in a chair? "All New Zealand and Aussie employees had chair-sitting instructions and practice added on to their health and safety training."
For once that did not come out of the Daily Fail.

If you want to blame anyone, blame irony pedants who have such a love of dragging down any thread labeled with the irony tag, that many submitters avoid using it altogether (even for entirely appropriate links), just to prevent their threads from being filled with comments by people who are desperate to prove that they have a superior grasp of the meaning of irony.

Also, by now, no doubt some of the truly misapplied irony tags are put there by mischievious submitters, simply to troll.

CAUTION: HUMOR SPOILER

It's funny until you figure out that clairvoyant != psychic.

Clairvoyants don't claim to predict the future -- they claim to be able to communicate with spirits, the dead, things like that.

Um, no, specifically those are mediums. Clairvoyance is simply the ability to perceive outside the range of human perception. Both mediums and psychics could be defined as clairvoyant.

Technically, both mediums and psychics could simply be defined as con artists.
