"training exercise went a-rye" Does nobody speaka da English anymore?

FYI

Pepperspray training usually means all the new guys are getting certified to carry OC on duty. This involves everyone lining up, then the instructor walks by and sprays them all directly in the face...

They might have been a bit distracted and missed the wind shift.

/Meanwhile... crappy writer... things "went a-rye"???
//Geez

2009-08-23 09:29:40 AM
Had that happen before. Assitants should have been certified for it, too.

Same rules apply for those who have eaten at Taco Bell in the last 24 hours.

Ah would like sum rhoast beaf with a- rye.... and some OC. Thankz.

Well, that's why you practice.

That should be standard practice for anyone carrying pepper spray. If you ever actually use the stuff, you will almost surely be exposed, so you should be prepared, and hope the person you used it ON isn't. It would take a LOT of OC to spread to neighboring homes, though ... I'm thinking this was:
-"rookie hazing" with unreasonable amounts of OC released
...or...
-accident with an OC device being covered up

FTFA: the routine training exercise went a-rye after a simple change in environment, Hollenbush said

Does anyone even proofread anymore?

Foolish backwoods dept, but of course the cop haters latched onto it like a stonner clinging to their last joint...

Note, this town is only an hour away from the town that caused the big Sottomayor blowup... the town that did the reverse discrimination thing for the white firefighters.

The testing policy sounds like a similar (and foolish) attempt at social engineering.

Simply put, set a standard for the job, then take the best applicants... How hard is that??

I accidentally did this once. Tested my pepper spray because I was going to walk to the bar by myself to meet some people. Got a little on my finger. Touched my face. My lips, and then rubbed my eyes.

After a while, I just said fark it and drank the pain away.

Shhh shaddup. Damn hypocrite. I see through your agenda. Taking an obvious shot at stoners for smoking weed, their drug of choice, yet you can't even operate like a normal human being without your coffee fix in the morning. And don't even try to tell me its decaf. Only goochbags drink decaf.

I did that twice. The first time was on accident. The second time was for fun. Both times were hilarious

The question nobody is asking is, why does a PODUNK township police department need smoke grenades and OC grenades? This mentality that every little police force needs to be militarized and needs SWAT is why the relationship between the police and the public continues to get worse.

I've been to Mount Carmel, PA. Mount Carmel does not need SWAT. They might need some tazers to take down unruly cows once in a while. Can we leave the over-militarized police forces in the cities where we can at least keep an eye on them? Don't let them spread into every corner of rural USA.

Slight difference... mine is legal.

Now if the MJ addicts would put their blunts down long enough to gather together and petition their Gov reps all at once, maybe they could get the silly laws changed and law enforcement would just have to deal with the idiots that toke and drive; leaving the sofa slackers to their "evil" ways...

Meanwhile, on topic, getting OC'd sucks... way worse than getting tazzed. 10 seconds of pain vs. 30-45 minutes. OC is a better tool for groups though, as long as you take note the wind...

The article says the OC was from a grenade though, so they were probably doing Confrontation Management (dealing with protesters) Training.

"I was very shocked that I would be gassed in my backyard in Mount Carmel Township," Pelus said. "Country air turned to toxic air."

Did this woman just GET to the country?

I can be gassed in my living room whilst sitting on the couch watching television next to my hairy chested nut scratcher.

Yes, because the proper way to "deal with" protesters in small town America is to deal out 30-45 minutes of punishment via an OC grenade.

Getting Marij legalized is a lot harder than petitioning Gov reps my friend. That is step two. We're still on step one, which is letting all the old smelly crusty brainwashed tardbuckets who can still vote(and do) die off in droves. Get off your lawn? NO! Now hurry up and die you miserable old hags. GTFO my Earth. And leave me the house.

FTFY

If they have shifted from chanting and waving signs to throwing rocks/bottles/moltovs and rioting/looting, then yes.

Citizens have the right to protest, NOT to become violent asshats.

Well, OC grenades are probably overkill, but I'd rather the police were armed with "less lethal" weapons than the current trend to have the PD armed better than the citizenry is permitted to be.
Handheld OC is pretty good for breaking up domestic disputes and stopping rural troublemakers from doing stupid things.

I did this in a citizen's police academy once. I can tell you this is not a pleasant experience.

The instructor sprayed us in the face, not realizing that the windows to the police station were open.

Shortly thereafter, the station was evacuated, including the chief of police.

Hilarity ensued.

At our next class, we asked the instructor if he got in trouble. He said that the chief yelled at him, but the worst punishment was when he went home and kissed his wife and did a little something-something to her, uh, delicate region, as he still had OC residue on his face.

No soup for him, one week. He may still be on a vajayjaycation for all I know.

I am getting a kick out of this thread, Since I hate to admit that Mt. Carmel is where I live. I keep asking myself, Why did I move back here.

Oh yea, The cops here are a joke. They are here to collect $$. That is all.

I prefer to believe in a conspiracy on this one. A stupid cover story like this is the perfect excuse for chemical-warfare testing gone awry. And when things go awry, they really go awry. Those people may begin to mutate - mutate into horrible super-beings. This may be the end. Oh dear me.

Oh, you've dug up that thirteen year old incident from one police department among the many thousand in this country and stretched it into a one-size-fits-all principle. How totally convincing. I guess anything that invades your comfort zone is best dismissed as "feces" though. You wouldn't want to have to actually admit you're wrong about cops or anything else for that matter.

Polyron: My IQ is undoubtably higher than yours. I'm capable of posting complete and reasonable thoughts, as opposed to the trash talking garbage you've felt it necessary to share. Not that you're interested in the truth, but my IQ is 136.

We got the same advice from a ranger when hiking in Yellowstone. He said if you have to use the bear spray, check the wind direction or all you'll achieve is making yourself a spicier snack for the bear.
