It's a farking dolphin show. If you don't realize water is gonna be splashed everywhere you deserve to die. The big SPLASH ZONE signs didn't farking clue her in?

So long and thanks for all the fish...

People like her ruin it for everyone else. There should be a death stipulation when filing a lawsuit. If a reasonable person thinks the suit is frivolous, the person filing the suit is immediately put to death and so is their attorney. Win-win

I've only known of five cases of people suing for slip-and-fall, and they were all by black people.

That's not a very big sample set, but I wonder if there's a correlation....

willfully trained and encouraged the dolphins to throw water at the spectators

No shait Sherlock, that's what people want when they go to a dolphin show, it's to get splashed by them. If you don't want to get near wet floors stay in the farking parking lot.

It's aggravating. She is the reason that there needs to be a "caution, dont stick hand in blender" label. We are dealing with a person like this at work right now... "there wasnt a sign saying the bowl coming out of a microwave may be hot... Im suing!!"

I hate people. I think we need to hit the reset button on humanity.

And quickly, too.

It was her parents that weren't so bright, but yeah WTF? There is no point to having a common name with an uncommon spelling. It makes you lame, not special.

No, but I'm guessing her parents were not the brightest crayons in the box, so I'm going out on a limb here and guess she's probably not too bright either.

We had our first in January. When we told the nurse her name, she looked at us funny. Then when we spelled it, she giggled. I asked what was so funny and her exact words were: Nothing, is funny. You are the first person since I have been here to give your child a normal name, spelled correctly.

If I look at the name and it takes me longer than 3 seconds to figure out how to pronounce it... your parents fail.

Just sounds a little fishy to me...

I've been to that Dolphin show (actually worked at the zoo the year that dolphin show opened, getting a kick out of replies, lawn, off etc.)

I believe they warn you about slippery floors.

And unless they put up a glass wall 30 ft tall, you're going to get water on the floors.

Plus - anybody who's been to Sea World and seen Shamu - they splash water into the first 10 rows (or more) of the audience! And those orcas move a LOT of water!

There has got to be some sort of reform to prevent these kinds of frivolous lawsuits. Just plain stupid.

2009-08-19 07:06:30 PM
One of my first childhood memories was being at a zoo in my mother's arms when a monkey threw a pan of shiat at us. To my knowledge she did not sue. But I remember crying like a little biatch.

yeah, there's probably some validity to that

to each their own. i wonder how many jennifers there are that go by jenny without giving it a second thought. and are they just lazy, or do they think jennifer is a stupid name

/personally, i don't like my given name much. but it has history on both sides of the family, so i wouldn't change it anyway
//and it's way better than going by my middle name

I call myself Jennifer, I like my name, but Jenny is shorter and easier to use for a fark handle. :P

(Also, most people call me Jen or Jenny because they're too lazy to pronounce the rest of the syllables, so I just go with it)

If it's got family history that's one thing. Spelling a name differently just to spell it differently is stupid.

people are funny like that. i've been amused quite a few times by people asking me if my name was short for marcus. while that might be true in a historical sense, my given name is mark. i have a very irregular and hard to pronounce last name, so my parents went with one syllable names for both myself and my brother. it always amused me when i was in the military and i was referred to as [rank] mark, as opposed to the proper [rank] [last name]. they couldn't figure out how to pronounce it, so just called me what they could :-)

I believe that when you turn 18, you should have the right to go before a judge and explain that your name is stupid or embarrassing. If he agrees, you get to shoot your parents in the knees - 1 bullet each. And all fees for changing your name are waived.

rej1139: "I've been to that Dolphin show (actually worked at the zoo the year that dolphin show opened, getting a kick out of replies, lawn, off etc.)..."

Just wondering - how do the dolphins know not to jump up and out past the wall of the pool? It would be a difficult task to get a large, heavy dolphin picked up and back into the water. Might you know, rej1139? Thanks.

This is why we can't have nice things. I agree with Karate Explosion, let's have every lawsuit have to first go through a 100 person panel, and if 80 or more of the people think it is absolutely absurd, off to the gallows with them.
