stvdallas: Lessee...Bill Clinton does something good. This is good for Bill.

For Obama, it means squat. Obama is spending the country into a hole it will probably never get out of and you're probably cheering him all the way. I didn't agree with much of Bush's spending, I definately didn't agree with the bailouts of the banks and auto industries and I was most definately against this insane budget that has been proposed.

THAT is what's going to matter in 2012, not whether 2 journalists got freed by an ex-president. Unfortunately, it's not going to help the Libertarian party, and the Republicans AND Democrats are going to continue to run this country in to the ground.

Oh god, the dreaded Fark Independent bullshiat.

I also imagine that it has something to do with her sense of history, in addition to any personal gain. Politico wives almost invariably back their husbands, but in the case of the Clintons, history could have been made via a tabloid split on legit media.

Many marriages are built of pragmatism. They're the first couple to have stayed together because they are stronger united than apart? Because they derive individual merit from their union? In the real world you might split once you catch your spouse stuffed with/being stuffed by other dicks, but in the calculated environment of national or even state politics, only an idiot would sabotage their spouse's career.
I'm certain that Hillary farked her share of bartenders and pool boys. for all I know, Bill watched while giving a thigh massage to a boy some rented boy from Brazil. Bottom line: as long as their is something to be gained, power couples only divorce in Hollywood.

I don't always agree with Weaver, but unlike the rest of the, ahum, 'opposition' in varying political threads, at least he makes sense. Most of the time.

That's all most of us have ever asked. Many of you think that Fark demands a lockstep obedience to a particular ideology. Pfft. Fark merely demands two brain cells making the spark of a decent argument or proposal.

If I favorited, Weaver would have been among the first on the list.

Weaver thinks the Clintons had people killed.

I'm a disgrace because I think that someone who commits a crime, admits to it to family members, and wants the US Government's help to get out of prison should stay there?

Is it because North Korea is a scary place that these criminals should not be there? Is that why you felt bad for them serving their time for crimes they committed? Or is it because they are women?

If Hillary had gone, do you think the hostages would have been released? Answer honestly...you don't have to answer here...just in your head.

Yep, but since Hillary can't go due to, you know, us not having normal relations with them it's a moot point. And I'm surprised you're doing so well at reading North Korea's collective mind. It must be tough! Maybe you should work for the state department!

So, these ladies have been cooling their heels in NK prison for 4-5 months, but the negotiations couldn't have gone through the proper channels? We have relations with North Korea through the six member coalition. We could have approached Sweden and asked for them back. We did not need to send anyone at all to North Korea.

You'd be crying like a biatch if they held you for a day. Pussies are hilarious.

Not defending the Clinton's marriage, but do you people live in the same world as me About 75% of the marriages I know of aren't based on love, they are based on other factors. Power, money, ect.

If you people think the Clintons are even remotely exceptional in the marriage, you need to get out more.

Back on topic again, Bill did good...and I commend him for it. That's REALLY hard for me to say because I think he got too much credit for things during his administration, and didn't get blame for things like the recession he left us in at the end. But, I also felt and feel that the senate and congress play as much a part in the good and bad of our country as the President.

So, Democrats, keep praying to your god Obama, the all-knowing while those of us that are still sane watch both the Democrats and Republicans ruin our country so that the chinese can come in 10-15 years from now and collect on the huge loans they gave us that we can't pay back because we don't know how to cut spending.

Maybe I'm wrong for questioning the legal system of North Korea, a dictatorship and a known failed state. But I just don't think I am. In fact, I think you're wrong. I think you're wrong for backing up North Korea in any way, shape or form. I think you're engaging in a stunning act of sophistry for doing so.

China considers Taiwan a part of Chinese territory.

So visiting Taiwan is violating Chinese Visa and Immigrations laws.

Would you say that any American arrested by the Chinese in Taiwan is guilty and therefore earned their punishment?

No, Americans can get a visa to visit Taiwan.

If that same American was found to have illegally entered Taiwan and was then arrested, then yes, they are guilty of breaking a law and have earned their punishment.

Let's try this exercise. Some powers have deemed it illegal to insult Islam.

If I say "f*ck Islam" I'm violating their laws.

Should I be arrested?

Duke Phillips' Singing Bears: The_Six_Fingered_Man: Gotcha. So it matters not that someone breaks the law. If they are American, they don't have to serve the time. They can call up and get Mommy Government to come and bail them out.

And yet somehow, I'm the piece of shiat.

Look, maybe I'm the crazy one here. Maybe I'm wrong for thinking that journalists should have access to things other people don't want them to have access to. Maybe I'm wrong for questioning the legal system of North Korea, a dictatorship and a known failed state. Maybe I'm wrong for thinking people shouldn't be locked up for taking pictures and picking up rocks.

But I just don't think I am. In fact, I think you're wrong. I think you're wrong for backing up North Korea in any way, shape or form. I think you're engaging in a stunning act of sophistry for doing so.

And I'm starting to think you're just trolling because of it.

So you think that you can go wherever you want to go under the guise of journalism? That freedom of the press means you get to know whatever it is that you want and go wherever you want?

Do you think that way about journalists in this country who are routinely denied access to a whole host of things by the US Government?

Define "Law."

Crossing a country's borders without permission from that country's government.

So visiting Taiwan is violating Chinese law?

If they have a law that restricts travel to Taiwan without Chinese Government permission, then yes, it is. This was evident with China's restriction on Chinese citizens entering Taiwan for many years.

What makes you think they haven't? Mexicans get arrested here in the United States if they don't have permission from the government to be here, I don't see the difference.

If you are in their country and breaking their laws, then yes, you should expect to get arrested. In this country, no because we have protections about laws regarding speech.

Americans didn't get the visa via China.

They're violating Chinese law. Denying this is, in fact, claiming the Chinese laws are irrelevant.
