schgsyi: Defendant: Van Buren Hutchison
(Allegan County, Mich., Sheriff's Office photo / July 3, 2009)
Charge: Murder and rape

WATCH OUT, HE'S GOT A POISON PEN!

He used to be such a handsome lad, but he got a bit heavy after the injuries and he couldn't run anymore. If only he had thought of swimming laps.

rhiannon: Somaticasual: "It's unclear where the skull or other remains were before that, or where they eventually ended up." - FTA

As someone who's actually bought a human skull on eBay, I think i can probably answer that..

//it was for photography, ostensibly..

I was always under the impression eBay didn't sell human bones.

It's kindof a gray area. A quick check just revealed 5-6 for medical/research/photography purposes. What they definitely forbid is "wet" elements, and probably bones that may have been ill-gotten (through theft, grave robberies, or worse as one can imagine).

If you look closely, you can see that his eyes are too close together. Sure sign of a murderapist.

rhiannon - Just did my own research:
Items that contain human hair (such as lockets) as well as skulls and skeletons that are used for medical purposes may be listed on eBay

Oh well, the more you know...

Well, I'm off to buy four more penises on Ebay. I like my pants to fit like a glove.

When your therapist isn't getting the job done anymore, see your murderapist.

Interesting. A search of the gravesite database (new window) linked in the article shows that one Emmett Till is laid to rest in this cemetery. Tragic story (new window), that one. And I pity the soul of anyone ignorant enough to disturb that young man's grave.

Well, they found Till's casket in a shed on the graveyard property.... empty. That should get the NAACP upset.

His old casket, right? He's still buried, last I heard.

Headso: The police were in on it?

Is this why the guy who blew the whole thing wiiiiiiiiiide open refused to go to authorities, but told everybody and their mother about it instead?

As a person who knows a lot of archaeologists, I am not getting a kick out of this story. Those bones were "too old" to be of interest? That's an Archaeological Emergency! Call the Archaeological Scene Investigators! (ASI).

They would have set the cops right.

They are just dead bodies (or what's left of them) - get over it.

Anyways, the TSA is useless. The last time I flew, I made sure to have little 4oz bottles of makeup, toothpaste, and contact solution, all packed up in a baggie according to their protocol. However, I'd completely forgotten about a full bottle of shampoo I had in my backpack.

Went right through the x-ray machine, and no one said or did anything. Either 1) they didn't notice, meaning the so-called terrorists they are looking out for could easily get past security by, um, packing their liquids into their bags or 2) they did notice, but didn't care, in which case...great? why have rules at all if you're not going to gleefully enforce them?

I'd really like to know, too.
