Because of things like Confirmation Bias.

Medicine and science do make mistakes, 50 years ago they were sure everyone different or deranged belonged in an asylum as opposed to the internet. However that does not mean people can endlessly draw conclusions from anecdotal correlations.
Parents who buy this stuff, this has nothing to do with advocating for your children, it has to do with you 1) wanting to believe you have some secret insight into the world that these dumb old doctors don't have or 2)wanting someone to blame for your kids problems.

Both my kids have significant disabilities so put away your
