If flushing out your butthole doesn't say science, what does?

Bill Maher is an anti-medicine, big-pharma conspiracy nut. I'm pretty sure he's anti-vaccine too.

If you go far enough left or right, eventually end up at crazy. Political views are best demonstrated as a circle. I made a graph:

"Most estimates are that the average person has ten or more pounds of stored waste just in their colon."

And another 3 lbs of waste located in the skull.

Losers.

I think constricting anus 100 times and denting navel 100 times in succession everyday is effective to good-bye depression and take back youth. You can do so at a boring meeting or in a subway. I have known 70-year-old man who has practiced it for 20 years. As a result, he has good complexion and has grown 20 years younger. His eyes sparkle. He is full of vigor, happiness and joy. He has neither complained nor born a grudge under any circumstance. Furthermore, he can make love three times in succession without drawing out.

In addition, he also can have burned a strong beautiful fire within his abdomen. It can burn out the dirty stickiness of his body, release his immaterial fiber or third attention which has been confined to his stickiness. Then, he can shoot out his immaterial fiber or third attention to an object, concentrate on it and attain happy lucky feeling through the success of concentration.

If you don't know concentration which gives you peculiar pleasure, your life looks like a hell.

Right, but "liberal" anti-science wackos are so much nicer about it.

I was on holiday last week, and a hippy girl tried to convince me that all meat is entirely bad and unsuited for human consumption. She was very friendly, pretty and didn't mind questioning of her position.

I compare this with some of the positively disgusting encounters with "right-wing" anti-science types, and I have to say, I'll take the vegan trim all day.

As a skeptic myself, I regularly send e-mails to journalists who report on quackery as if it's the truth and ask them to please present both sides of the issue next time. I don't believe that we have to dismiss alternative medicine, but I do think that we need to discourage journalists from getting one-sided on issues that really could spell life or death for people too stupid to look into things for themselves.

If you want to believe in homeopathic medicine, use hypnotic anesthetic or prevent swine flu with enemas, be my guest. But you may not:

1) Prevent a child or elderly loved one from getting modern scientific medicine treatments on the basis of your wacky beliefs

2) Prevent children from getting vaccines because you feel sorry for Jenny McCarthy and her autistic child (who was not made autistic by vaccines, despite what she might say)

3) Advocate that people in other parts of the world who are dying of disease should rely on tribal cures and New Age healing instead of getting proper medical treatment.

In other words, alternative medicine is a luxury. Treat it as such. But don't deny others basic medical care, and sure as fark don't lie to make your side seem more tenable. There are some really gullible people out there who might actually believe the stuff you're spewing on places like the HuffPo.

Yea, they do a lot of that shiat. But it's hardly leftist. Sometimes a cigar is a cigar and sometimes pop-culture stupidity is just pop-culture stupidity.

If you want to know why bee pollen (amongst other pseudo medicine) can now be sold with health benefits attached to the advertising with no testing, however, look to senator Orrin Hatch.

I'm not saying it's the Right's fault tho. Just Orrin Hatch's fault.

NOVA or Frontline had a documentary about this kind of deregulation about a decade ago.

What do you think rapture is? Answer: Ones who believe shall not perish and will have everlasting life. Immortality Device is believed to allow humans to stay physically young forever. US PATENT # 5,989,178. The most imporatnt invention in human history.

Here is a chart that I made based on my personal experience.

Wear Immortality Devices for 1 day - equals to 30 days of healing without the devices. It heals your body faster than you can age. That's why you stop aging.

Use Immortality Devices and Gorgeouspil for 1 day - equals to 3 months of healing with only the devices. (no joke) That's why the shape of your bones can change within a few days.

Use the devices, Gorgeouspil, and also Chi Flush for 1 day -equals to 5 days of healing with the devices and Gorgeouspil. And you get to remove all Chi blockades which the Gorgeouspil cannot do.

The lesser the chi blockades you have, the healthier and more superior you are.

Super Chi Flush can flush through anything! It doesn't matter where the Chi blockade is. Super Chi Flush can flush right through it. You have to use Super Chi Flush with Gorgeouspil and the rings. When you are on the bed healing, you can feel the blockades being flushed through by Chi Flush!

In May, Huffington hired Patricia Fitzgerald, who had previously blogged on the site, to serve as Wellness editor. In Huffington's words, Fitzgerald will add "another layer to the vetting process for posts dealing with medical, health, and nutritional advice." Fitzgerald, an acupuncturist with a master's degree in traditional Chinese medicine and a doctorate in homeopathic medicine, is the author of "The Detox Solution: The Missing Link to Radiant Health, Abundant Energy, Ideal Weight, and Peace of Mind." Her posts had praised actress Jenny McCarthy for healing her son's autism with "biomedical intervention," a menu of "detoxification, and removal of interfering factors, such as yeast, food allergies, viruses, bacteria, and heavy metals," restrictive diets, expensive nutritional supplements and chelation therapy -- all unproven.

Wow. That's a whole lot of reliable. Reminds me of Canada's Science minister.

BIGNICKEL: praised actress Jenny McCarthy for healing her son's autism

WTF? I'm only a doctor on the internet so I don't know for sure but I don't think that's possible...or at least it isn't yet. Does that crazy biatch actually claim she cured an autistic kid?

The difference here is, if you stopped 10 random Democratic congressmen, and asked if cleaning their colon cured cancer, approximately nine would tell you you are crazy. While if you stop 10 random Republican congressmen if Obama was born in the us, approximately nine would run away like a little girl.

Wow, just, wow.

From that article: When Evan meets doctors and neurologists, to this day they tell us he was misdiagnosed -- that he never had autism to begin with.

She's in a serious state of denial over this.

I would think it's kind of clear from the title- HUFFINGTON Post. The lady can pick all the quacks that she wants to have blog since it's her site. It's up to the readers to be critical when reading their posts when they choose to visit the site.

I only go for the news aggregation, I think the bloggers are kind of lame.

the entire liberal/moderate wing of my family is pretty normal, except for my sister-in-law. she's fully into chakra realignment and mung root tea as a viable means for treating infants with colds or allergies. i could've sworn i heard her parroting the anti-vaccine movement and i explained to her that it was based entirely on nonsense, and that, as much as i dislike giant, faceless multinationals, i really don't think they're in cahoots with whomever makes baby-sized coffins.

she then sent me some reading material that would "really make me think" and it was boilerplate crazy from some random asshole's blog, with citations only as deep as 'we all know that big pharma is....' and '...everyone knows that this root extract cures cancer, so naturally...', it really sickened me.

also, i'd have a better chance of convincing my dog of anything i tried to convince her of.

Remember back in the 90s when Arianna Huffington was a conservative writer?

I think she's simply an opportunist. Liberal is working right now, so that's what she's going with.

TofuTheAlmighty: Conservatives may not have a monopoly on anti-science wackos but they sure do command the lion's market share.

I don't know. When you read much of crap that comes out of the environmental groups nowadays, they even up things pretty well. Usually can't read through a CBD, Sierra Club, or some animal protection/rights alert without beating my head against the wall.

Rapmaster2000 Remember back in the 90s when Arianna Huffington was a conservative writer?

Back when she was supporting her husband, the conservative politician Michael Huffington, she was conservative. I think she became a lot more liberal in '89 when he came out of the closet as bisexual and they divorced.
