I have a feeling that a male college journalist would've discovered exactly the same thing. Because:

a.) As And_Then pointed out, the recruiters are cordial to everyone. They're probably rewarded based on the number of leads they provide, so they'll be friendly and helpful and encouraging to anybody who shows the least bit of interest.

and

b.) Women are just as driven by sex appeal as men are. Surely some of the recruiters were female.

Surely this can't be a new realization for her. Most women discover somewhere around the age of four that by batting the eyelashes the right way, our daddies would give us whatever I wanted. From that point on, we never look back. ;)

Just because people who make a living being nice to anyone that talks to them were nice to her doesnt mean theyd actually hire her. Perhaps she should do a followup where she sees who actually interviews her, and better yet what shes hired for. I agree with the try various approaches idea. Also a n of 1 really doesnt mean much to me.

She is not bad in that outfit, but honestly this isn't new information. Hell I can't list the number of crappy co-workers who I have had to work with who were hired because they wore a lowcut top or short skirt. Friends of mine and I refer to it as the "pretty girl syndrom". Since they never really have to work for anything seeing as they get by on their looks they have a stunted skill set and little brain power. Oh well, it keeps the plastic surgeons in busisness.

hmmmm.....an attractive person dressed semi-seductively (i mean c'mon that skirt wasnt THAT short), who acts self confident and possibly even a little(GASP!!!) aggressively is met by friendly flirtation and polite banter at a job fair populated by company recruiters who are most likely attractive, dressed nicely , self confident and maybe even a little agressive. They are salepersons, selling a company....she was percieved as a salesperson....selling herself. No mystery, except what she will be doing after college since writing professionally is obviously out of the question.
