Sounds like someone has a case of the Mondays.

*cracks knuckles*

So, a police officer, highly trained in firearm use and safety, snaps in a random moment of tension and uses his firearm in an irresponsible manner? This must mean that more people should be allowed to carry firearms all the time.

Are we certain this didn't occur at a Dunkin' Donuts?

Also noted from the article - he was a black man.....making racist hateful comments?

I thought only white police officers did that sort of thing!

he probably heard the clerk tell the staff "it's for a cop..."

Pocket Ninja, I find your lack of expanded post disturbing. I was awaiting a grandoise post that would leave all farkers in awe of your mastery of the conversational arts.

On the other hand, short and sweet works too.

Its a good time to make those budget cuts. Starting with him.

2009-07-21 12:57:13 PM
Well, at least they put him on paid vacation rather than jail. I mean, any non-cop citizen who pulled a gun at a McDonald's would be on paid vacation right now, right?

Yes, the more guns everyone has, the safer we all are.

The NRA says so, and I don't see any reason they would lie.

Jeez can't they take a joke?

2009-07-21 12:59:20 PM
This is the kind of stuff that makes me not like the police. A certain type of personality is drawn to that line of work and there are a lot of these types of individuals in authority roles.

/yes, i know, not all cops are bad

This just goes to show that all cops are assholes. The police should be eliminated. This one incedent proves it.

yes well , you see cops "know better" than civilians, they "understand better " these things you see. they know when to give someone a break, all they have to do is look for the Badge.

2009-07-21 01:01:59 PM
Well, one less idiot that doesn't need a badge.

not eliminated (we need those guys)
perhaps we could set up a system with checks and balances for power, establish a document to define our rights, and set up a formal agreement between we the people and the government...

then we could... you know.... follow it

Why not? Smoking Gun needs on this. If they can get every other schlub, this one needs out too.

This is right by where I'm looking at houses today. Neato.

Cops and coffee make me think of this video. (new window) Very much so totally not safe for work (unless you have earphones), but funny as hell.

Denver police spokesman Sonny Jackson said Saunders has been suspended with pay during the investigation, but he would be put on unpaid leave once the department is formally notified of the charges.

Followup: Denver police say they never got the charges from the DA. Cop goes back to work.

Followup: Citing due process, a Denver judge has thrown out the case against the Denver cop who pulled his gun on a McDonald's employee. "I hate to do this, but I have to follow the letter of the law and let him go" said the judge.

Followup: Former McDonalds worker arrested for drug possession. She had tried to sue the Denver Police Department for intimidation and harassment.

Followup: Former McDonalds employee sentenced to 12 years on drug possession. "We need to send a strong message to the streets that crime will not be tolerated."

mrtk421: /yes, i know, not all cops are bad

No, all cops are bad. Some are actively bad, assaulting citizens like in the thread yesterday, pulling out a gun because their hash browns are coming out too slow. Others merely cover it up, ask for videotapes to be destroyed, and lose booking photos. There are no good cops, because every cop knows a bad one and yet does nothing about it.
It's like the Catholic church. They're all either pederasts or covering for pederasts.

This must mean that more people should be allowed to carry firearms all the time to protect themselves from such professional thugs.

Spot on.

He should have threatened to spill the coffee on himself. McDonalds would have hurried to avoid another frivolous lawsuit.

But but, CruiserTwelve says those are just isolated incidents perpetuated by the media! Good cops are everywhere. Most are just busy covering for the few bad ones!
