Our band teacher had a party for parents. My oldest asked if she could go and was told no as there would be alcohol served.

If they're going to fire him, he might as well earn it.

Sounds like it's time to start sexing up the girls on his former team. (And give them beer while he's at it.)shiat like this is why people hate school administrators.

yes, let us never allow a single one of our precious angels to witness adults enjoying alcohol responsibly and in moderation. that will certainly help our nation's alcohol abuse issues.

jehovahs witness protection: I thought DC residents were the most liberal in the country.

This is not DC, it's Frederick County, Maryland. It's still a very rural and conservative place. According to Wiki: Frederick County has not voted for a Democrat for president since 1964 when it voted for Lyndon B. Johnson. In 2004 George W. Bush defeated John Kerry 59-39%. In 2008 John McCain defeated Barack Obama 49.62%-48.58% or a margin of 1157 votes

That is actually the crux of a national ad campaign they got going on now: don't let your kids see you enjoying a drink. They might get the wrong idea and drink, themselves.

*facepalm*

Thankfully alcohol is illegal until you're 21, so no HS kids or young college-age kids drink at all. It's ILLEGAL... how could they drink? Again, it's against the law, so it doesn't happen.

The best part is that it wasn't even his beer. Some parent brought it, stashed it in the cooler, and shared it around. One six-pack.

Anyway, I don't see what the problem is. The season was over, it was a private residence, and no kid got her hands on any alcohol.

Just another example of the American Taliban in action.

"The incident in question took place at what is considered an official team function."

You know sure as shiat if something actually bad happened like a kid or parent fell in the pool and died or something, the school board would not cosider it an 'official team function.'

He's supposed to give the high school girls beer.

Besides that, he completely forgot to feel up the parents that were drinking!

To be fair, I hear that used more for the residents of the city of Frederick than for the county that houses said city, but I suppose that is a matter of semantics.

I totally every kid of every parent who attended the function where the beer was served should be banned from all extra activites for the entire next year. That will teach them.
