I don't think the planes brought down the buildings. The Empire State Building was hit by a plane in the 20's or 40's and it wasn't brought down.
Witness from the BBC news feed (see my previous ref) says there was a shaking at the base of the building. This means there was a coordinated attack. Possibly someone "set us up the bomb" at the base of one or both of the buildings. My theories, but I think the buildings are set up to withstand a plane impact.

Reguarding the posts about This is what Pearl harbor must have felt like, are ignoring the fact that the US government KNEW about the attack on Pearl Harbor almost a week before hand, and knew of the attacking force 18 hours before they attacked.

Many people are asking WHY US? Well, because we turn a blind eye to Israel when they perform the same racism that was performed against them, for starters. Secondly, we use various countries as pawns to further our own gains.

You can't do that in war. The nukes at Hiroshima and Nagasaki barely took that many lives. This was basically 2 planes and 2 buildings, and we weren't even at war.
