Wha kind of crappy gun did she have that accidentally fires a round by being dropped?

2009-07-12 08:34:13 PM
Crappy gun + Uncle Mike's holster = Fark.

My guess is that when she grabbed it as it fell she hit the trigger.

Zero excuse for this. Somebody was packing a piece of crap gun.

Next time, pack a Glock. Jeez.

CruiserTwelve: Wha kind of crappy gun did she have that accidentally fires a round by being dropped?

99% of the cases of "it just went off" are people who pulled the trigger and don't want to admit it. In this case she probably tried to catch it when it dropped and caught the trigger.

XD40 subcompact on some days, Ruger LCP on others.

Since she was 56, probably an older revolver with an exposed hammer.

wow this woman in inspiration for us all.

i think i'm going to start shoting people in public rest rooms.

you'll just be sitting there pooping mind your own business and BlAM!! shot in the dick.

and since i live in Florida i'm guessing it would take at least five "accidental" bathroom shootings before anyone realized what was going on.

this woman should be charged with aggravated assault.

i bet she owns a pitbull and has a trampoline in her back yard but no fence.

Guns going off "accidently" is the real reason you need to keep them locked up in a secure cabinet.

Guns are evil and out to kill us. They have a rudimentary intelligence that is often underestimated. They will shoot us the minute we are not paying attention or are distracted watching TV or feeding the cat.

The evil lord Zordak sent guns to Earth in order to soften up the population for his arrival and conquest of this planet.

You have been warned.

/There's something wrong with a society that feels it needs to be armed all the time.

2009-07-12 09:08:46 PM
Depending upon what I am wearing at any given time I carry:

1) Glock 27, .40 S&W
2) Glock 29, 10mm
3) Sig P239, 357SIG
4) Springfield Armory XD-9 Subcompact, 9mm
5) Kimber Tactical Ultra II, .45 ACP
6) Ruger SP101 2 1/4" Stainless, .357 Magnum

Amazingly, none of them have ever been pointed at anybody and none of them have ever gone off by accident. I must be a fluke, all of those dissimilar weapons with nary a negligent discharge.

/People like that give gun owners a bad name.

I saw a USP .45 go off when it dropped 3 inches onto a table at the range; shiat happens. Doesn't excuse the lady though, it's her responsibility to keep her shiat leashed.

Wonder if she was carrying in condition 1? I'll agree and say she probably grabbed/snagged the trigger as it fell out. Either that or a POS gun.

HAHAH BUT YOU'RE WRONG I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IT MEANS IN CONtext to the law. so therefore i don't think it means anything. i just know it goes in front of assault sometimes and its possibly what the surface of a pool is finished with.

By idiots, yup. If you carry correctly, there is zero worry. Instead you get toolbags who think that any way of concealing a pistol is an appropriate way to carry concealed, and/or modify the trigger for a lighter pull.

Guy at my local shooting range got Glock Leg from the same model (30) I carry. It made me ask a lot of questions which promptly led to the common theme: modified trigger and was carrying improperly.

Geez, gun owners are worse than women and shoes. Gotta have the next new shiny thing. Hell you even have two of the same make.

They all do the same thing, just pick one, and go with it, you don't need the others.

Hopefully I'm fixing the article.

*points and laughs*

If someone had 3 vehicles, one being a Ford Truck and one being a Ford car, would you have your head so far up your ass about that too? "well they all have 4 wheels and a motor so why can't you use the car to haul things and move couches omg you like a woman with her shoes omg".

If you don't know anything about the subject, stfu

Maby its my engineering background, or maby its my training, but the thought that changing the weight of your trigger pull is enough to render a weapon unsafe is upsetting to me. I like redundency, the more the better. Beretta model 92 has plenty of problems, but if it goes off, you can be fairly sure somone did somthing wrong.

It had to do with the components that were being used, which weren't Glock OEM, to my knowledge, and disabled some of the built in safeties or similar. Glock had a warning issued on their website for a long time. Now they sell Glock brand connectors that don't alter or disable the built in safeties.

Needless to say, all of the accidental discharges I've seen from those have been from carrying improperly and/or improper modification of the trigger.

Bottom line: if you can't carry correctly, then don't carry at all. If you can't abide by that, get yourself a nickel plated sissy weapon with a safety and accommodate your bad habits.
