of course it's fake.. Mr. Toads Wild Ride was removed like 10 years ago

as i posted ion one of the repeat red-lit threads

here's my theory

he opens the production saying he brought her to the spot they met X years ago.. this leaves open the possibility that he's a performer there.

SO he gets the greenlight from his bosses to pull a couple performers just before the parade to propose to his lady friend. knows there will be a small crowd of people staking their positions early....nad will now get the wild sexes for life.

he's clearly a singer. a performer of some kind. to be able to bounce around, riff with the crowd and still stay in tune.....nah...he's professional.

i feel vindicated about my theory...but i thought the chick wa sreal...so i only partial fail

The second the "groom" started singing and dancing, did anyone this it was real anymore?

Why do you people have to go and ruin everything?

If I ever marry again, I know where and how I will propose. Thanks internet.

The only thing he was proposing was that she be his beard.

"can I have everyone's attentiooooonn?"

/ghey
//if I were there I would have walked away the moment someone started singing.

I thoroughly enjoy the girl at the end of the video saying 'It's not every day you see someone get married!'

First of all, I can't believe she actually thought that was real. Secondly, last I checked there had to be some vows and whatnot to be married. Unless of course I'm missing something, which has happened on occasion...

2009-07-10 12:17:40 PM
I also thought it was poor taste for the lady to say "my feet are getting numb" next to the lady in the wheelchair.

2009-07-10 12:18:33 PM
I think I am gay now from watching that.

Someone should pull up the thread claiming this was a proposal we should all be jealous of and the poster that claimed those of us who called it fake just "couldn't let other people be happy." Ha ha, who's the idiot now?

"If you can come with an emotional response and wrap your brand around that, young people are big supporters of that and they don't mind being marketed to like that."

We do mind. No one, not even the "young people" likes being mislead in their emotions.

It's still real to me dammit!

I think you'll find that, when you go to Disneyland, the rumors of Mr. Toad's death are exaggerated.

/of course, he still gets hit by a train and sent to hell

2009-07-10 12:28:54 PM
I wonder how faked it was. Was it just a spontaneous "improv anywhere" performance during a real day a Disneyland, or something more?

Even most of the crowd looks like a bunch of extras who are in on it, standing in assigned places (coincidentally, a nice safe distance from where the performers will be) and reacting as they're supposed to at key points. Heck, except for a couple of people, they're not even taking photos.

I wouldn't be surprised to learn that the whole thing was filmed after hours and took a dozen takes.

The worst "viral" ads ever have to be Sonic. It's basically just an excuse to have crappy actors, cameras, and script pitching a shiat product.

Came here to say that, and that I agree with Gwendolyn as well.

I didn't watch the stupid video commercial, but I loved this comment:

MommieMouse says:
Well, my boyfriend saw the video and it obviously affected him. He took me to Disneyland earlier today and proposed minus the singers and dancers. However, that's okay because next week, we're going to have a baby. Maybe this video won't bring viewers to the park but maybe, just maybe this will get some jackasses off their butt and take responsibility for their actions. I'll probably divorce the creep, but at least the baby will be legit!

A week before delivery you get engaged with the knowledge that you will probably divorce him, but at least your child will be "legit". I love America.

What the fark was that? I feel tricked into watching that. Like two girls one cup. Are there any reaction videos from the Disney proposal?

Explain "Twilight" then.

Why not ask your potential fiancee what she thinks would be "romantic"?

Did with mine, and ended up proposing in a horse-drawn carriage by the Alamo... in verse.

She still brags about it to this day.

Protip: Unless she's a sports nut, the Jumbotron might not be what she considers "romantic" enough.

Too much marriage talk today! EWWWWWWWWWW

All I need to read now is that a fatty new born monkey from Mexico is marrying his racist, knocked up, fork lift driving, under age Twilight loving girl friend who he used to "babby" sit my day will be farking complete!

Told my now husband if he did a public proposal that I would say "No".

Dear Fark,

What we've just watched is one of the most insanely idiotic things we have ever watched. At no point in the rambling, incoherent video was it even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone who has watched this is now dumber for having watched it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

/Sigh, remember the good old days, when viral marketing wasn't done by chimpanzees?

I don't think anyone thought that the whole choreography and the guy singing wasn't set up...obviously it was.

But the one part that I thought might have been real was the girls reaction. I guess not.

This is actually the first viral video I've actually paid any attention to (just got YouTube at work). Sadly I'm gonna be a lot more cynical now.

/Welcome to Fark
