While I personally find this disgusting I'm going to just put something out there.

When a large portion of popular "black" culture focuses and glorifies the thug life, pimping, violent aspects of ghetto culture and pushes that into the mainstream of popular culture that is how the population as a whole will view you. Sure, most black men aren't ho-smacking, drug selling, murdering pimps but that's the facade that the 'urban' culture is selling us.

I was at an amusement park recently, and there was a medium sized (~20) group of black kids ranging in age from about 10 to 17 years old. One kid in particular went out of his way to "represent" and be as thuggish as possible. A mother (not with the group) in front of them asked him to stop cussing, as her 6 year old daughter was with her, he went of on another rant, and started cussing even more.

I would have cheered if they were kicked out of the park, but then again, I would have cheered if it was white kids doing the same thing and got kicked out.

That's a roundabout way of saying I'd have to see more info to determine if this was race based or not. Black kids want to swim? Sure! Let them swim all they want. Black kids want to thug and swim? Kick them right the fark out.

"There was concern that a lot of kids would change the complexion ... and the atmosphere of the club," John Duesler, President of The Valley Swim Club said in a statement.

Wow....just wow. Here's their website: Link Pictures are very small, but easy to see that there's only Caucasians in them.

according to a different article that i just made up the real problem was that too many of the black kids were getting dragged to the bottom of the pool by their gold chains and the heavy spinners that they put on their goggles. it just wasn't fair to the lifeguards.

yeah it's not and has never been a racist word but given context it very clearly draws that association. like i said, really poor choice of words if that's not what they were trying to convey with a wink and nod.

People would be very surprised at the number of all white clubs. One of the clubs they used to play during the Pebble Beach Pro-am golf tournament dropped out of the tournament when the PGA required all clubs that host a PGA event to have minority members. The club dropped out of the tournament instead of allowing a black member to join.

The only problem is that all the kids had bought memberships, and now the club is rescinding them... so private or not, they kids were part of the club.

If that's the case, it's purely a breach of contract matter between a private entity and individuals. Not really the ACLU's business, since this isn't really an issue of the state violating anyone's rights.

Hmm. When I did field service many years ago, Chinatown was one of my regular stops. Never had a problem, EVER. two years of regular daily trips.
