Who cares where they settle if they get out of prison...they were released for a reason. The only problem I could see with it, is if they weren't criminals or enemies of America before Gitmo, they very well could be after years of false imprisonment and never being able to defend themselves.

LOL I didn't read that gem in the article...what a f*cking moron. It's sad that we recognize, and accept that assault, rape and other crimes are the "norm" in our prison system. Since when was a prison sentence anything other than serving time for your crime...if they want to sentence you to be assaulted or raped, why not just put it in the court sentencing...if not, then clean the f*cking prisons up. If you can't protect people in prison, then you shouldn't be sending them there.

The sad part is that this is still more or less a a typical american's span of knowledge about the Middle east and it's cultures. It's the reason why after sept. 11th 2001 you heard the masses wailing "why do they hate us?"... if ignorance is bliss, america has some of the happiest people on earth.

We already have a very large Arab Muslim, and African muslim population in the Twin Cities. If the detainees are tried in court, and found to be actual criminals, then they'll stay in our Stillwater prison (like all the other criminals up here). If they are found not guilty, they would probably find it very comfortable living up here (unless they wanted to get back to their families wherever they came from, which would be very understandable).

We have murderers, rapists, and worse in our prison systems, why would terrorists pose any more of a threat? And since these people aren't American citizens, like any other foreign national who gets a first class stay in our prison system, upon release, we deport them back to wherever the f*ck they come from.

I don't see the problem, aside from the ones who are innocent, and now have a vendetta against America for holding them in prison for the last 7-8 years.

I don't get why pussies are so afraid of these guys, and think our prison system would somehow be inadequate for holding them.

That is interesting... during WWII we had German soldiers imprisoned here as real-life actual prisoners of war right here in the united states... these were men actually caught ON THE BATTLEFIELD with tanks and guns and WEARING UNIFORMS and IN THE PROCESS OF KILLING Allied troops, including Americans. After the war, many of them decided to stay here and disappear into the surrounding communities, marrying and raising families and what not... and they are still here TODAY.

Meanwhile, Japanese-Americans, citizens and naturalized alike, were stripped of everything they owned to be imprisoned in their own country for years and ostracized for even longer after the war.

Of course it helped that the German POWS looked just like the people in the towns and cities outside the camps...

OH yeah I forgot about WWII German prisoners...I just assumed we would deport people after they serve jail time and they're from other countries. Just put em on a boat and ship them back...kind of strange we let them go free in our country.

America basically has its finger up Cuba's ass, holding it upside down until the head falls off. Meanwhile, all of its lifeblood is rushing into the head keeping it the best cared for body part while all the rest are deprived of everything until it's worthless end to end. It's only fitting that we use it as a place to torture others, really.

It could be because there are loans, grants, and credits for immigrants who come here and start a business, and a small cab business is a real easy one to start up.
