Eh, $20 a gallon of gas is actually old and busted. When you major in economics, they teach you about supply and demand your freshmen year. When you learn the simple statistic that America has 4 percent of the population, but uses 25 percent of the oil being pumped, it's only a matter of time before the supplier cuts you off by the means of raising the price to offset demand. You might actually see a time when you see $300 a barrel of oil. Granted if you're alive in the next 15 years.

While the gas generated by beans and onions is certainly powerful, I don't think the collector tube is going to be very popular

If a second rate news rag publishes an article that raises gas prices by $0.50 every 3 months, how long will it be until that news rag goes extinct from lack of buyers?

Bite me, city-dweller.

The future of the automobile is fuel cells. Not hybrids, not ethanol. Fuel cells. 100+ years of fuel cell cars.

We'll have better and better fuel cell-based cars that work just like gasoline cars with the same range per tank and no 500-lb batteries.

/go Honda!

We're not going to wake up tomorrow with gas prices of $12 a gallon. These things will filter in over time, and they will happen at a rate at which it won't be a revolution. It will be gradual and natural.

When my grandpa was young gas was $.15 a gallon and you actually pumped it (pulled a handle up and down) and then took the guy your money and he trusted that you gave him the right amount. If you had told him then it would be $4 a gallon and you had to prepay he would be shocked. But is was gradual and natural, so he never had a fkn coronary about it.

It'll be like that?

OMFG EVREEBODY PANICC!!!1!!!eleven!!1

Yeah.. except for the 3/4 of the country that lives where winter sucks. Biking to work during a snowstorm isn't going to be terribly popular.

If I can do 45 miles a day in the 30's they can manage the spring, summer and fall. I'll settle with bikers for 3 out of 4 seasons.

Trust me, it's not worth it. The anti-coagulant you have to use is pretty expensive. You do NOT want your fuel line throwing a blood clot into your exhaust system either! that's just all kinds of bad/wrongness.

I've had moderately better mileage using the souls of the damned (mostly eco-nuts who did some littering when they thought nobody was looking), but after a while all that weeping and wailing got to be such a drag that I ended up just flushing the system and going back to internal combustion.

You should use the souls of orphan children. They work wonders for cars, and also joy-machines.

I believe that we'll have almost total unemployment and prices for just about everything will be through the roof at the same time. It makes sense if you think about it. Stupid Obama.

Uchiha_Cycliste: You should use the souls of orphan children. They work wonders for cars, and also joy-machines.

You don't really get a whole lot of anguish out of orphan souls. You need some really really good guilt and remorse - that's where you find the best milege ratio! 40/10 white guilt/catholic guilt cut isn't a bad mix. you can thin it out with some jewish mother guilt too, a little bit of that goes a long way.

I see. Your mistake is running the car on anguish, not hope. Those silly orphans are full of hope. The key is inscribing the intake with "loving parents this way".
