And the kingpins once again thank the DEA for the price supports.

Durn, that could have taken care of Fark needs for a week.

$450 a pound. Mexican dirt weed.

"Any time we can prevent 10 tons of narcotics from entering the streets of America, it's a great day for the U.S. Customs Service"

So long as this is the thinking we are nowhere near legalization of marijuana and never will be. Just deal with it and keep getting it illegally from your local dude.

Extra guards called to Dell dude's cell for suicide watch.

Well, you have a whole generation of idiot Americans that have been brainwashed into thinking "drugs are bad...mmkay", and that because they are bad for you, they should be illegal.

Of course most people don't seem to realize that the government would save the billions being spent on the War on Some Drugs (plus they could tax drugs and make a little on the side), drug usage would drop after a while (just look at Amsterdam or other places that have legalized), drug kingpins would go away because you could buy weed from your local Starbucks, and the overcrowding in jails that is prevalent today would disappear, because you won't have some guy off the street being charged as a dealer because he had more than a tiny amount of weed.

Quick1: When I think of all those things I just get depressed because I likely will see none of that in my lifetime.

Save the bales!

There was a great Doonesbury cartoon a couple Sundays ago where Mr. Butts is bragging to Mr. Jay about the couple hundred thousand people he's killed in the past year. But Mr. Jay feels left out, since he didn't kill anyone. He says. "Well, I did cause several thousand arrests," and Mr. Butts is like "See! There you go."

Damn, it might be tougher to score this week....

Come to Australia, guys, the decriminalisation of pot has already begun.

I got some good indonesian, mans. Come over to my shack and smoke some with me.

2003-02-23 04:24:24 PM
Outstanding headline.

2003-02-23 04:24:31 PM
Oh, is marijuana a narcotic now? Or is it these people's job to exaggerate the dangers of a relatively harmless drug?

2003-02-23 04:25:40 PM
invest in private prisons!

you will thank me

2003-02-23 04:26:01 PM
Note to self: Increase weed budget for March.

2003-02-23 04:26:36 PM
Chikapa you beat me to it. Marijuana is a hallucinogen. I'm like SO telling my 5th grade D.A.R.E. officer!

2003-02-23 04:27:05 PM
Great headline.

2003-02-23 04:27:09 PM
I would imagine it would be a lot harder now to smuggle weed into the US when all the officers are the border are meticulously searching trucks for bombs and other terrorism devices. But i dunno, just a thought since it was the dogs who sniffed the weed, not the people

2003-02-23 04:27:27 PM
I predict that with constant spending on the defense budget and a futile war on non-american drugs, America will be bankrupt just as the terrorists' dirty nukes detonate in Times Square.

Borg9

That's because to do those things, the government would have to admit they're wrong. Have you ever heard of ANY government ever admitting it was wrong?

2003-02-23 04:27:49 PM
Borking it's been classified as a narco, since god knows when. But it is so common, that you usually just get a possesion ticket. Yes even form the state troopers. I know.

2003-02-23 04:31:04 PM
completely unrelated to this thread, but here it goes, because i know there has to be a farker who knows what im talking about.

does anyone remember a website that was around last year in which there was an asian themed cartoon/drawing that had 2 different frames and then out of nowhere the picture of what appeared to be a ghost would suddenly flash in the window with a really loud shriek?

i was just curious if someone could give me a link to that site because i dont remember what it was, but it was awesome, thanks

Damn this is good. Think of all the teenage girls that won't get pregnant now !

Korzeniowski: Yea, I'd love to man. Work on unclamping those immigration laws for me and I'll be right there!

Quick1: The gov't would also save billions if it stopped prosecuting crimes such as murder, rape, and gang violence. Choosing to make things criminal only if it saves or makes you money (traffic tickets as a revenue source, etc) is not exactly they way to go about deciding what the laws should be. And drugs can be bad for you, as alcohol can be. But alcohol can be taken in moderation, and the extent of impairment is directly related to the % of alcohol in your system, whereas some people can get very impaired off of only a couple of pulls. And who's going to dictate what a safe amount is? Legalizing pot creates as many problems as it solves.

2003-02-23 04:32:39 PM
Slayerswine was permanently banned for being a jerkoff (apparently) according to witnesses.

2003-02-23 04:33:18 PM
This is very sad. But thank god everyone is paying attention to what is really wrong with this country.

2003-02-23 04:33:52 PM
Yep, for every pound they seized, another 20 or so got in w/o a problem. Where the fark are they? :)

2003-02-23 04:34:10 PM
Frimel;

No offense, but you sure it wasn't you who ordered the pot?
That sounds like a seriously bizarre site

2003-02-23 04:34:24 PM
pssh...
Okay, when the hell do you think weed will become legal? I'm placing the Vegas odds at 2025. Some president's gota have inhaled by then and come to his senses.
What would happen if weed were legal:
budget surpluses every year
all of Quick1's points of reason
maybe less type A personalities
a plethora of jobs created by this new industry--hello!

but I digress..

2003-02-23 04:34:51 PM
And a pipe with resin in it, DOES count as possesion.

2003-02-23 04:35:09 PM
thanks Doc , i'll remember to be good around here too ;)

2003-02-23 04:36:00 PM
I used to buy my pot from the police.

"Any time we can prevent 10 tons of narcotics from entering the streets of America, it's a great day for the U.S. Customs Service," said Michael Turner, special agent in charge of the U.S. Customs Office of Investigations in San Diego.

Marijuana is not a narcotic.

nar·cot·ic
An addictive drug, such as opium, that reduces pain, alters mood and behavior, and usually induces sleep or stupor. Natural and synthetic narcotics are used in medicine to control pain.

To the conditioned minds of those opposed to marijuana along with other drugs, they would think that marijuana fits this definition. However, marijuana is quite different. Mainly in that it is not physically addictive.

Anyway, who cares about the truck getting busted. Everyone knows the best buds are homegrown. That mexican shiat ain't worth the dirt prices anyway.

2003-02-23 04:36:16 PM
Frimel - I know what you are talking about, but I can't remember what the name of it was. I'll bet you can find it over at EBaum's World if you dig around enough.

2003-02-23 04:37:04 PM
There go my plans for next weekend...

2003-02-23 04:38:05 PM
Marajahoobie will never become legal in the USA. Not as long as it's profitable/politically desirable for the government to continue imprisoning young black and hispanic men.

Put that in your pipe and smoke it.

2003-02-23 04:38:24 PM
Neeky, slayerswine had started to e-mail people threatening to kill them and such. And in the threads, he got WAY out of hand with threats. Even though he did have good points, his method of conveying them became really REALLY shiatty. I was lucky enough to catch the last month or so of his FARKship.

I wish SNL had writers as good as the one who wrote this headline...

War On Drugs: Stupid, Ineffective and Costly

Release all non-violent drug offenders from prison/parole and wipe drug offenses from their records.

Drug Amnesty. Repeal Prohibition.

and I don't even smoke pot...it just makes sense...

"I wish SNL had writers as good as the one who wrote this headline..."

I meant the headline, "US customs seizes 20,000 lbs of pot. In other news, Frito Lay issues earnings warning", just for clarity's sake

Kpar90. You obviously have little experience with pot. Alcohol intoxicates you to a further degree at any percentage. Two drinks can have some people unable to walk properly while two joints will only cause them to become really docile and harmless. Legalizing pot will rid you of the same types of problems associated with alcohol prohibition. Mainly destroying the lucrative blackmarket.

Note to self:

When preparing to get through customs with 10 tons of pot, don't forget about those pesky drug sniffing dogs.
