The mock wedding wasn't that bad. I think what most parents had a problem with was the mock honeymoon behind the dugouts. But that's ok, most mock weddings result in mock divorce in two years or less.

Sounds like making a big deal out of nothing.

Telling the audience that there would be no kiss, the teacher took the student's hand and they ran down the gazebo ramp toward the library at the end of the ceremony.

No kiss? She's already learned the secret of marriage: once he says "I do", you don't have to any more.

"What I saw as theater on the playground -- a little girl's game of dress-up and make-believe..."

Was just exactly that.

Granted I don't remember my teachers playing that kind of make believe with us kids...

Men some of you always have excuses keep the kids off your laps and teachers stop touching then you wont have this problem. But they should cut his stuff off old nasty man
tell him go find a women and leave the little girls alone

Superintendent Barbara Powers described him as a "very gregarious, teach-from-the-heart kind of guy."

It's a good thing she didn't call him a consummate professional.

You guys are awesome. :)

Me, I'm just amused that his name is Rosenblum.

Powers noted that the inquiries to Boffa came from parents whose children have not had Rosenblum as a teacher.

Color me shocked.

And you noticed what I noticed. Should he have done it? Probably not, but kids try to get adults to participate in their little tea parties and other games all the time. My guess is that the Moral Majority couldn't find any kids on their lawn so they called this in.

Maybe they should go back to calling in reports of unmarried moose sex.

As a fundamentalist Mormon with eight wives, several of which would be in the fourth grade (If I allowed them to be educated by the secular school system), I am outraged that this man is being condemned!

Huh. I RTFA and while it seems a little creepy, it's very obvious from the article that the kids wanted it to be all in good fun. I don't think I'd be all that concerned. It's obvious that the parents of his students weren't. Only the parents who were operating on rumor were worried. No big surprise.

2009-07-07 09:52:06 AM
must admit as a teacher, I'm still failing to see the problem. geez this type of Play stuff, happens all the time at school, it's how one bonds with the student. I hope the principal and teacher had a bit of a laugh about the complaint. I am so over all this PC crap, all it does it drive male teachers away from wanting to teach in lower grades which causes problems, as some students really do need a male teacher.

I really can't imagine this happening in the 80's. I mean, the part about parents complaining so quickly. We really are in the age of pedophellia.

Disciplinary action should be taken in this case. This is inexcusable behavior and certainly cannot be tolerated. If we fail to make an example of this it will only continue to occur and more than likely slowly advance to the next level. Then the school district would most assuredly be staring at a big dollar lawsuit. The only solution is to severe the continuity of service for the Principal and Superintendant. Neither of them have the balls, figuratively or literally, to stand up to the asshat parents that complained and good teachers like Rosenblum should not be dismissed without a fight.

My manager told me that one of the other managers went on a crusade against the Chick-Fil-A cows. She thought it contributed to kids' poor spelling.

I kindly asked her not to tell me who the specific manager was, for fear of getting all stabby at work.

All done in clear public view with many direct eye witnesses to the total goings on and not a single sinful thing to report.
There sure is a lot of mindless clucking for no one having laid a egg.
