Its just a parrot. If it were a ferret in a tree, then the national guard should be involved.

I don't remember seeing any bird skeletons in a tree before...

Nope that parrot wasn't saved, it was recaptured. Minor difference there.

I was just thinking, a cool movie would be to have a baby parrot that was raised by eagles and he couldn't figure out why he was different. But it would get boring so you'd have to include some pornography.

I saw a parrot stuck in a remote tree last week when I was camping in the sierra's. Are they going to rescue that one too? Seriously - these guys need to draw the line somewhere. I'm glad they are doing the politically correct thing but it ain't the most efficient use of their time.

well the recent glut of [boobies] links would account for the lack of kittens.... (runs)

okay, let's seee... "rescue" a bird from a tree, it's NATURAL enviroment, and put it back into a cage.

This is a rescue?

2003-02-22 09:25:02 PM
Um, isn't that the natural habitat for a parrot? Unless it's in a cage saying "Polly want a cracker?

2003-02-22 09:37:17 PM
i think the cats are busy in Rome

We have lots of wild parrots where I live.

I didn't see a story about parrots.

Wild parrots are cool!

Parrots are not native to the United States, so a tree in Kansas is *not* its natural environment.

Furthermore, since sometime in the early 90s (possibly even the late 80s, I don't remember exactly), it has been illegal to import wild parrots into the United States. Therefore, almost all parrots available to obtained as pets have been born and bred here, and have never even *seen* the jungle. I know not one of my three parrots would have a *clue* how to survive outside of my house.

So, yes, rescued, not "recaptured".

Was it a ... former parrot?

I'm sure the submitter intended for the influx of masturbation jokes, thus the wording of the article title.

In either case, *runs outside to hug her cats. All four of them. Four.*
