Yeah, that's pretty awesome. I wonder if she's going to leave the rest to the local blood donation group in her will.

90 year period? She should have really talked with her ob/gyn.

This is a brilliant headline.

So brilliant in fact, that it is the metric by which all other brilliant headlines will now be judged.

/+1 subby you magnificent bastard

When Chuck Norris goes to donate blood, he declines the IV needle, and instead requests a hand gun and a bucket.

That's pretty awesome. Kudos to her.

/Can't donate blood anymore.

2009-06-28 08:28:03 AM
I just went in for my 29th donation, which works out to about 13 litres. At the clinic where I go there are a few 175-180 times donors on the wall of fame. 200 is impressive!

I figure that if this is something useful that I do well... I should keep doing it. Plus, my nerdy lifestyle has precluded the sort of overly-adventurous sexual behaviour which make one ineligible to donate these days.

2009-06-28 08:28:30 AM
And I thought the 3 gallons I have donated was pretty good...

I'm not sure if anyone noticed this, but I think the headline may be a play on a common term for menstruation.

2009-06-28 09:42:03 AM
can you make the blood flow up the walls?

way to go lady!

as someone with o negative blood, i also donate often but now my measly gallon club card seems pitiful

2009-06-28 10:40:39 AM
It's my understanding that here in Canada you have to stop around retirement age or thereabouts. I guess the people she donates with are a little more sensible and determine eligibility according to one's health, not one's age.

Either that or they're desperate and will take anyone. *shrug*

2009-06-28 10:52:32 AM
First, five internets for Subby because that headline is solid gold.

Second, I have iron-deficiency anemia, so I feel very grateful to all who donate.

And i thought bleeding for 5 days without dying was bad. Someone get the fire. And an axe.

Assuming he did that on purpose. I like to think he didn't. It would be more magnificent that way.

2009-06-28 11:07:55 AM
I'm just over 4 gallons myself. Though it usually gives me the heebie jeebies talking about blood in terms of gallons. (Even without disgusting but clever headlines.)

Yeah, I know, what's up with that? I lived in England for a few months in '81 and now I can't give blood anymore because they can't test for Mad Cow Disease.
