Very cool, nice find subby.

That is awesome!

I haven't got the patience to do that, but what a neat image it produces!

The Poles seem to be short of real cameras. We need an emergency appeal.

Pinhole cameras are really cool. Personally I'd rather use a DSLR, but you know, whatever floats your boat.

As a side note, I went into my local bookstore a couple days ago looking for a book by Bryan Peterson and I was told "Since digital has replaced film, I don't carry how-to-photography books. Nobody uses real cameras anymore."

I wanted to beat her about the head with my 70-300, but decided against it due to the fact my lens might be damaged.

What a f*cking tool. I've spent far more time learning about basics of photography, plus the finer points (like astrophotography) with a DSLR than I ever did with a film SLR.

Mostly because you can't go out and shoot up 300 with film. It'd cost an arm and a leg.

In the bottom photo, there are green lines in the sky as well. Could those be where the moon has crossed the sky?

That never happens. Put the bong down and come back to reality.

Don't most students taking a photography class make pinhole cameras? We did, anyway.

Still neat.

I didn't see any pictures of weed pipes. Now, where did mine go? Ah! Here's an apple!

We did this in a journalism class in 9th grade. We actually used empty Quaker Oats cans. Had a lot of fun with it, but it was a pain in the ass to get the exposure time just right.

I think leaving a DSLR running for a year while pointing at the sun the whole time would cause a few minor technical issues that would have to be resolved

I read this as "things you can do with an empty cat."

They make prtty good bongs, too, if you dry them out.

No, ours were usually around 8-12 minutes. But all you'd have to do is make a really small hole or use really nonreactive photo paper, right?

That and have 6 months to leave stuff sit around.

I'm not trying to say it's not cool, though, because it is.

I always preferred using an old shoebox to a can for my obscurae, but they tend to catch fire if I use them for weed.

The Big Box stores now have split up where to find your photography books. The books that are collections or business related or "general photographic interest" are in the Photography section. All other books, like the Magic Lantern books, the Scott Kelby books, are in the computer section.

BAH!!
