TheNyquilKid: I wish a world leader or dignitary would/could quietly (maybe they have) and ask Mousavi what if/any help he wants and who from.

The King of Jordan, perhaps? What has he been up to, lately? As in, where? His father used to be all over the map, and he was when Second Iraq went off...

Tats, Shep Smith on Fox is pretty much fawning over Jackson right now... It's almost as creepy as Blitzer trying to pretend he knows what a music video is...

Wait, was that a reward or punishment?!

I guess you could say we did it for the lulz. She was dumb as shiat and we realized she would say anything we told her to, so it became a game of how far can we go before she realizes what he coming out of her mouth.

The instructor (who happened to listen to the whole in his office) pulled us aside knowing who did it (about 10 of us), started to tell us it was unacceptable but lasted about 3 seconds before cracking up, congratulating us and saying "but seriously guys, you can't do it again, I mean it."

Congrats, I think the only truely creative thing that happened with her students (other than when her editors decided to paint the ceiling), was when two of her photography students decided to help with the collection of the ads for the newspaper.
One had a last name of "Grimm" and the other "Payne." Thus, together, they were the "Grimm, Payne collection agency."
(Grimm ended up a Judge, Payne a lawyer, and they no longer get along, but they DID get all the back payments within a month or so)

There have been reports that the fighting back has started to a greater extent outside of Tehran. Since they've dumped so many thugs and Basij and riot cops into Tehran they haven't been able to reinforce the other areas, so things have been more violent elsewhere.

I think this would be a good time for me to restate this.

It is time to keep a close eye on our trusted sources to determine if they have been compromised.

Check for signs in how they spell or abbv. certain words, common mispellings, spacing, Capitalization, -how they format their messages-, even things such as times of posting can be a clue (if they always have posted at midnight and now they are only posting mid afternoon), as well as others.

I know we would hate think it but it's something we need to be proactive in determining because it could be incredibly damaging to the resistance if the regime is able to start spreading misinformation though what are thought to be reliable sources. And we all know they know that.

Dead on. The primary character is actually based on Hunter Thompson, just set in an era where "Ow, my balls" would be the contemporary entertainment for a populance completely tripping balls off a wide array of drugs.
Bascially, because the main character does what these tweets have done, the written word takes hold and the people take note. Eventually, well, won't ruin the story line, but, aye. Dead on there, Capt'n.

More than 180 Iranian MPs appear to have snubbed an invitation to celebrate President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's election win, local press reports say.

All 290 MPs were invited to the victory party on Wednesday night, but only 105 turned up, the reports say.

No-shows include Larijani, interestingly. The article notes that 50 were considered 'reformists' and thus would not have been expected to show up, but that still leaves 135 others who didn't.

While an interesting idea for getting messages out, it's not practical.

Best thing to do would be to send in a single drone running some embedded OS, fly it in, have it receive tweets or something on a USB key, and then fly them all out. The empire doesn't consider a small one man fighter to be much of a threat. It gets home, everything gets posted. You could call them carrier pidgens, it'd be great.

Yeah, just as with all these idead, it'd be great if it works. The important part of that sentence is, "if it works". If it doesn't it's Jimmy Carter farking up sending the Marines in, and I'd rather not have another 30 years of stupid because of more idiocy like that.
