There's a big gun shop near me where all the employees bring their dogs in every day. There's always 4-6 of them wandering around at any given time. Mostly big, goofy Labrador Retrievers.

I am Mr. Right's Border Collie. This week I rounded up the late lambs for weaning and had to put up with that incessant "baaaa"ing. We had to get a group of hogs out of the swale and load them up for market and I chased 2 foxes and a coyote away from the chicken coop. I was hoping to get an early start on the weekend. Now I hear it's "Take Your Dog to Work Day." Who the hell thought this up? Mr. Right takes me to work every damned day as it is and now he's supposed to do it for some cockamamie holiday? You city folks think this shiat is cute. You probably got your nails done and some cute damned bow in your hair or some ghey pastel bandanna around your lilly-livered neck. Well then get your cute little, tail-wagging a$$ down to work - if you can call sitting on your not-insubstantial backside while visiting the Hot Monkey Love Chat Room work - and you all have yourself a nice day. I'm a taking the pups up to the lake and having me a day off.

I've taken my dog to the office on occasion, and I should probably do it more often. My Border Collie isn't a dedicated herding dog, but she's definitely a bundle of energy. Every student that pokes their head in takes one look at my dog, who immediately looks up at them, and they quickly reschedule. As sweet and lovable as she is, she's never bitten anyone, so I can't understand why all my students are scared of her. She's more likely to lick you to death than bite your face off. She even herds my nephews when they decide to run from Uncle MC, and brings them back to the porch. On command.
